Spaced out gamertags

Hey I'm wondering why gamertags like E x p o r t, or S n o w aren't allowed to be created? I know for a fact that a lot of them are nonexistent. Can someone please explain why we cant have those? it's really stupid to be honest.

Can't change my Gamertag at all..?

Once again an amazing original gamertag is wasted because dream is taken on an inactive spaced version. I just searched it. Its literally sitting there not being used in a spaced version. Please microsoft clean up these inactive spaced gts!!

Unreleased Gamertag Request

its shows its released but in reality it is probably blocked by an inactive spaced version. Gamertag will not be usuable imo until the inactive spaced version is removed. Which i think microsoft should remove since the gamertag is being wasted.

The system doesn't see things like spaces as making a gamertag unique. So those tags are already taken as Export and Snow.

The problem is that with gamertags is that hysteria is the same as h y s t e r I a so it is probably out there somewhere with another variation with or without spaces with gamertags spaces do not count they are the same thing.

Thanks for reaching out, unfortunately the user of underscores (_) are not permitted in Xbox GamerTags; alternatively, spaces are available for use in a GamerTag.

I think by "reserved" you mean "spaced." When someone spaces a gamertag, it "reserves" all forms of that gamertag, regardless of where any spaces are placed. For example there is a gamertag "G o l" but no such gamertag as "Gol." But if you try to create
the gamertag "Gol" the it does not let you because the letters G O L are already in a gamertag with no extra letters/numbers, just spaces.

Does that make sense?
