Sounds for everything but video apps

Hey there,

generally lay my audio is totally fine, it even makes a noise when I browse around Netflix etc. however, whenever I click through to watch a video - there is no sound. Once that happens the sound goes for all applications until you restart the console.

any ideas what the problem is. Thanks!

5.1 surround sound for video apps

Xbox Video has 5.1 streaming for most HD titles.

5.1 surround sound for video apps

hi,

Are any of the video apps like Amazon Video, Epix, Redbox instant play movies in 5.1 dolby surround sound? I just recently moved my equipment form one room to another and noticed that when usig one of these video apps; the sound is not in 5.1. When I play
video games and in the menu I believe i am in 5.1 as I have sound coming from rear speakers.

Hello,

if your console audio works with games and other applications I suggest you to delete Netflix app and download it again after cleaning your console cache

Everything checked and I was left with resetting the console which I did.

Everything is the same so while I change in Xbox settings to Atmos audio I'm not getting any sound from menu or for example from diablo 4.

Atmos sound is working only in demo videos in Dolby app.

Please help....

everything ive done is in my previous comment. ive been looking in forums and troubleshooting and nothing matches up. my problem isn't the " whole screen goes blank". my problem is this: everything is fine , you pull up youtube app, you can see all the
videos, you click a random video, it brings up the videos page, its up and you see the recommended videos in the far right but your video (in its own frame) shows a green screen and plays nothing but that with sound.

There is a setting to allow apps to use a border.

Settings, display and sound, video output, video fidelity and overscan. Toggle off apps can use a border. That should fix it.

I have a 5.1 dolby digital receiver/dvd player hooked to xbox one with an optical cable and to the tv with hdmi Xbox setting is set to bitstream out dolby digital and I get full 5.1 on games and blue ray works perfectly and menu sounds but any music or
video app or a dvd that has 5.1 audio won't work the music and video apps only give 2.1 and the dvd with 5.1 sounds so muffled I can't hear I have tried everything and all I can get is this or fake surround and I don't want fake surround if all the apps are
in 2.1 why wouldn't the Xbox be smart enough to mix the sound through all the channels of audio if the program only does 2.1
