Soundbar "remote code is not valid", but it is correct!

Hi,

I have an Orbitsound M9 soundbar connected through optical Xbox one out.

For some reason when I try to enter either of the 2 remote codes (6122 or 01FE) into the A/V setup I'm told "the remote code is not valid" so I'm unable to take control of the soundbar via mu Xbox one.

I've searched for days and these orbitsound remote codes are correct. Is there a workaround or fix?

It'd be cool to be able to have both TV & soundbar turn on or off with my Xbox.

Any help or suggestions welcome. I'm truly stuck.

Media Remote

I think I have the same or similar issue. What's weird is that my Philips HTL2160 soundbar works great using the Kinect voice volume commands but not with the Media Remote. If I use the volume button on the remote my soundbar blinks like something is happening,
but the volume never changes. Yet, the mute button on the remote works fine. Again, the voice commands work fine for volume. Weird. Anyone find a solution?

 

Xbox One Media Remote Volume Controls

My media remote will not control my soundbar. Commands like "xbox mute", "xbox volume up", etc all work seamlessly with the soundbar, and the console even powers the soundbar on and off as it should, but I simply can not control soundbar volume and it's
a HUGE bummer.

Any advice/answers out here??

 

I've now been through the entire OrbitSound product range and learn't that 6122 & 01FE are their unique remote codes for all products.

So, the problem seems to lie with ms not recognising OrbitSound products despite them being a major sound bar player.

Hey did you have any luck getting your orbitsound to work with your xbox one? Just picked one up and had assumed it would have been straight forward

 

No, I haven't. Imagine it only needs drivers included in the monthly update. Damned annoying using such a small manufacturers list

Same just got one, and was surprised to find this doesn't work on the xbox one. it should really work by now?!?!?

 

Yet another update without sound bar support. I'm not interested in snapshots - I want my sound bar to work as it could/should!

I have pretty much lost any hope of these being supported now

 

EXCELLENT!!! my M9 now works - mostly after the big update (including new GUI). it will infrequently forget or fail to toggle off the OrbitsoundM9 when switching off or on but on the whole seems to work fine on volume changes & muting so I cant quite
put the M9 remote in the cupboard due to the toggle issue. nice to have it mostly working after all this time.
