    Soundbar Connectivity Issues

I have a VIZIO S4251w-B4 soundbar with wireless subwoofer and satellite speakers. I have a 60" Samsung 4K TV UN60JU7100 I am trying to hook up my soundbar to my Xbox One using an optical cable.

I got everything hooked up according to the manual and only the soundbar itself is working. The satellite speakers and subwoofer are not. There is no humming or static on any of the satellite speakers and subwoofer. Only the soundbar is currently working.
I've paired the subwoofer and soundbar numerous times and I am still having problems.

When I use the (vizio) remote to change the input, the sound only comes on when I'm on the USB input and not OPTICAL input, which is very confusing as I'm using an optical cable hooked directly from the soundbar to my Xbox one.

I'm not sure of why all of this is happening, if there is any advice and help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    :)

HDMI, Optical, Passthrough, ARC = Confused.com

Yep, seconded. Unsure why you'd want optical at all when you can HDMI everything. This should solve issue 2 for the OP.

As for the OP's issues 1 & 3, it sounds like your soundbar is having troubles receiving IR from your Kinect, and I can only suggest making sure there's nothing obstructing the input sensor on your soundbar or in front of the Kinect. In my experience, Kinect IR works flawlessly with all my kit, but you're not the first who has reported soundbar issues receiving IR.

Xbox One Blu-Ray Player, audio and video out of sync

I have this issue also. Played a couple of blurays. Some in 3d and they were definately out of sync. Uninstalling the bluray app, made no difference. Will try the uncompressed option later. I have the original Xbox one.

xbox is connected to my LG OLED but it did the same on my old Panny plasma.

    *EDIT*

The uncompressed option (either 5.1 or 7.1) does not work. I get an error saying to check my receiver is compatible. The Xbox one is connected to the TV via HDMI and the TV is then connected to the soundbar over optical (optical cable from TV to soundbar)

Blurays are well out of sync using either DTS or Dolby Digital. Thsi was the same issue on my old Plasma TV.

Even if i just use the tv sound without the optical it is also out of sync.

    Soundbar Connectivity Issues

Reading the setup manual it says you should connect the soundbar to the TV by optical/digital/RCA or RCA 3.5mm and to use only ONE of these connections.

Try connecting optical cable to TV and Soundbar then disable internal sound on TV and finally connect the Xbox One to the TV by HDMI. Choose the correct input on the Vizio remote and see if its any better.

    Thanks, I will try that!

Can I just check, do you also have a soundbar or similar set up/connected to the TV? Samsung tech support are being dismissive about this being related to the 1401 update and are trying to push the blame onto the soundbar. I have not yet tried disconnecting the soundbar and seeing if the issue still presents itself but I am absolutely convinced it’s the update. Even if the issue did not present itself without the soundbar, I’m not sure what difference this makes as I feel like the update has impacted the way the audio channels via HDMI functions on the TV and therefore still a Samsung issue and not a Sonos or Microsoft issue.

    So frustrating!

No Sound on Game is Frustrating

We need to know brand of TV, are you using a soundbar/receiver or headset? Is the soundbar/receiver connected via optical/TOSlink or HDMI? Thanks.
