Sound through controller

I have 3 controllers- 2 wireless and 1 AmazonBasics wired controller. When I plug in my headset to the AmazonBasics controller, I the microphone is activated and I can hear the game sound, except the controller is trash and RT is broken. However, when
I use a micro USB cable to connect one of my two wireless controllers, I can play the game perfectly but get no sound. Is there any way I can get sound through my wireless controllers plugged in via a cord to eliminate the need for the Amazon Basics controller?

I would suggest using a different USB cable, and trying different headphones. Headphones that have both stereo sound and a microphone use a TRRS (Tip, Ring, Ring, Sleeve) connector which allows for two audio channels in, and one channel out for mic audio.
Depending on the manufacturer the order of the connectors, and what channels are assigned to each can differ, the main culprit of this being the Apple airbuds, but you may just want to try some plain audio headphones in the 3.5mm jack and see if that works.

Official Xbox Controller or are they made by other companies to work with Xbox One? Also When you say you are using a micro usb cable, is that with the Xbox
One Play & Charge Kit?

Sorry to hear it. It may be an issue with the 3.5 mm jack. I would recommend getting an Xbox Headset Adapter and give that a try

To start out, what type of headset are you using? Also, does your Xbox One controller have a 3.55mm port, or are you using an adapter with it?

Yes, all sounds from the console will be transmitted through the controller and adapter to the headset.
