Sound quits on Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 after 3 hours of play

I have the Star Wars Edition of Xbox 360 that I bought about a year ago and a few times when playing Castlevania Lords of Shadow the sound quit for varying amounts of time. Today while playing Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 the sound quit after about 3 hours
of playing and did not return so after about 20 minutes of playing without sound I turned the console off. If this is a heat problem is there a fan that can be added?

I have a problem similar to this one. It's exactly the same time I think. But the problem is that the sound starts humming and then the screens freezes. The sound is still humming after that but nothing else happens. REALLY annoying. :´(

 

On Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 when Dracula meets the 3 sisters that become Medusa the console makes a VERY loud humming sound and has even frozen up once and had to be turned off and back on to make it work again. I have done all of the troubleshooting
steps suggested but nothing has worked. DangerousBard above suggested some steps which I have done but they did not help. My game has many more problems if you have beaten it once and go for the next harder game level. There appears to be a lot of bugs in
this game.
