    At present I use a soundbar connected to xbox via optical cable as my monitor has no sound works great.

    As the new xbox x is about to come out very soon I have seen that it has no optical output.

    Any suggestions for my sound problem, or should I not bother with the new system ?

    get a hdmi/optical splitter, that way it converts the sound direct from hdmi to optical. available in most places.

    I have not seen an option on the console that allows you to disable these sounds. Can you please use the
    Xbox Uservoice website to see if this feature can be added to Xbox One.

    I suggest you to make sure the console audio settings are correct for your combination of TV and cables and update your console software. For further info check the steps of this support link:

    Xbox --> TV --> Sound system

    But for my new setup, it will be this:

    TV (video) <-- Xbox --> Sound system (audio)
