Sound issues with Titanfall using Xbox One headset adapter.

I can't hear what direction anything is coming from when I use my headsets. This doesn't happen in any other game though, so is this because of the game or what? Does anyone else have this problem?

Will there ever be virtual surround sound for headsets?

I recently picked up an Xbox One and along with it the official Microsoft Xbox One Stereo Headset with adapter.

I assumed although it's a stereo headset, there would be some virtual surround sound or something similar to make it clear which direction a sound is coming from.

Now I've had nothing but issues with the headset. Crackling, popping and static. I've read that is due to a recent patch so I will make do until an update.

My bigger concern in the long run is a lack of surround. When playing in Titanfall it was impossible to tell wether sounds were coming from infront or behind.

So am I better off returning this headset or will it ever be able to replicate surround sound (albeit using software/virtual)

Furthermore, does the "stereo adapter" even work with proper surround sound headsets?

 

Xbox One mic stopped working

I'm randomly getting similar issues with my Titanfall Controller randomly shutting off after the controller update and I can hear sound out of my new Xbox stereo headset with the headset adapter but nobody can hear me until I restart my Xbox

 

I've had my headset get stuck on a sound. Kinda like a skipping CD. Although it doesn't happen often, its pretty annoying.

 

When I'm playing this game and someone invites me to a party, I join the party but my headset won't pick up sound and I can't talk through it, only my Kinect works. I have to turn my Xbone off, turn it back on, join the party first, then launch the game
in order to use my headset..... This is the only game this happens in. every other game is fine. It also happened on the BETA.

 

Well, it is a stereo headset, so unless you are using a surround sound processor, you can't expect pinpoint audio from that headset. Some games use simulated surround encoding that can sometimes feel pretty good. But have a sound sound processor for use
with a good stereo headset is a much better alternative. If you have a SS processor, make sure your console is set to use bitstream.
