Sound issues when playing CDs

When i play a CD the sound comes out like a dusty LP.

Not sure when it started because the first time i tried it i assumed it was the disc, even though it worked fine in a cd player.

However i tried it again today and others are doing it too now.

It ONLY does it to cds. Videos, dvds and already uploaded tracks are fine.

I have a HDMI going straight into my TV/Monitor.

I miss the good ol'e days where blowing on it would work.

no sound playing dvds

I have tried all the above except updating the tv firmware and still I have no sound when playing dvds on my xbox 360 slim 250gb. It really is maddening especially as it works with an av (rgb) cable. It will play and rip cds so I am completely lost as to
what cause this.

 

Riping audio cds to the hardrive and it fails everytime

So when i put a brand new cd in the xbox and try to rip it it fails everytime. I have no problem playing anything, music cds and games, i just cant rip cds brand new or copies. I get the circle with the line in it. It worked one day and then one day it stopped.
Please help i just wanna rip cds. Like i said itll play any cd with bo problem.

 

Apparently it doesn't do it with all CDs just the ones i want to listen too..

 

are the discs by chance burned copies?

 

I always noticed a quality of sound degradation when playing "mix tapes" lol

 

No, one of them was my parents Led Zeppelin cd so it might be older than me but is perfectly clear on everything else, and it happened with some newer cds too. Its like a bad connection or dust in the speakers . If it wasn't fine the rest of the time.
