Sound issue with the Stereo headset adapter

I recently bought a stereo headset adapter and noticed a weird issue. When I change the input on my hdmi switch the connected headset is completly disabled.

With the normal headset without the chat adapter the sound works even after I change the input.

Is this the normal behaviour or a bug?

    :)

  2. Television Audio Through Xbox One Headset

If you are talking about the Chat headset, that comes with Xbox One, then No. If you are talking about Stereo Headset, with an Stereo Headset Adapter. then Yes. Using the Stereo Headset Adapter give to both Chat and Game sound to the headset. If you TV,
is connected to the Xbox, your TV sound, will go to the headset.

  3. Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

    Hi Legend of RDG

    If I understand your question...

Q: If you buy the Stereo Adapter, will this allow you to hear sound.

A: Yes, the stereo adapter will allow you to plug in headphones to hear sound. I omitted the headset that comes with the adapter just in case you already have headphones.

(The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter lets you plug a compatible chat or stereo headset into the Xbox One Controller to control your audio experience without taking your hands off the controller.)

The adapter will work with many existing headphones, but you can opt to buy the Xbox Headphones (w/Mic) and adapter too

Sound issue with the Stereo headset adapter

Did you run an update on your controller with the adapter attached? If not then head to Settings>System and do that.

Yes the controller + adapter is up to date. The problem seems to be connected to how the console handles the hdmi output. It seems when the connection is not present anymore the console disables the output.

If somebody could test this on their console it could be really helpful. Basically change the input on the TV or Receiver the xbox is connected to and check if the headset still plays the xbox audio.

Maybe the issue is connected to my HDMI receiver and how it handles hdmi-switching. I also tried to disable HDMI-CEC and ARC but the problem still exists.

  6. I hooked my Turtle Beach x12's to my xbox one via the Headset Adapter. Followed MS instructions to a T. Sound works, controlling game and chat at same time is very annoying. My issue is when I do have sound I cant turn the BASS BOOST up, so i have a $70
pair of headphones, a $30 headset adapter and now am stuck playing games that sound like crap due to no bass. How much more money will I have to spend to play games on my new $350 xbox one? I wish i had stayed with my xbox 360 as i never had a single issue.
GET IT TOGETHER MICROSOFT/XBOX, we spend money on your product instead of SONY for a reason, im not sure how long i can keep having issues without switching sides and consoles.

Xbox One X - After update my controller dosen't detect any headset I plug in and there is no sound.

    Hi there,

What is the specific headset you are plugging into the adapter?

Headset's, headphones, or earbuds with stereo sound will have the ability to have game audio along with chat volume that is adjusted with the adapter or in the "Audio" settings that will only appear when plugging into the 3.5mm port which you have confirmed
was the issue with the original controller.

There are some headsets however that do not have stereo sound and are strictly only meant to chat with others, and are usually referred to as chat headsets. These tend to only have one earpiece whereas stereo headsets will have two.

If you have a stereo headset/headphones plugged into the adapter, then the chat mixer slider that is usually found in the "Audio" settings will be controlled on the adapter with the game controller icon button indicating the game audio volume and the button
with the icon of a person indicates the chat audio volume.

Can I use a Xbox one sterio headset with a DVI converter?

Just tested this and it will work.

Xbox One connected to a monitor using an HDMI Cable. Set the Display settings to DVI. Meaning no audio is being transferred over the cable. Attached Headset Audio adapter to an updated xbox one controller and plugged in the Xbox One Stereo headset to the
adapter, got Stereo sound on the headset without any issues.
