Sound issue solved

Hello everyone,

This may be very obvious to most of you, but I thought I would share anyway.

Yesterday, I disconnected my sons Xbox One to change the layout of his room.

When we reconnected it all with the HDMI cable, there was no sound.

I checked the cable, tried a different one, checked sockets etc.

The display and audio settings showed HDMI greyed out. A real head scratcher.

In the end I went into the accessibility settings > audio and discovered that the audio was set to mono. I have no idea how it happened, because it was all working prior to disconnection.

I unchecked that and bingo!

I was then able to go back to the general audio settings and select the correct HDMI settings.

I hope this helps someone out there.

ive got it working but it sounds wrong and not clear idk how to solve this issue

Same receiver, i solved the issue by enabling surround sound in xbone sound device settings -> troubleshooting.

It requires a console restart then 5.1 surround works.

If your profile is on Xbox LIVE, then a copy of it is always on the servers, and deleting it from your console will not eliminate it. The idea is to get the profile off of the console so that you can clear the cache and put a fresh copy o the profile back
on so that any errors will hopefully be removed.

PS my profile is on a USB, it's not on the Hard Drive.

Sound issue solved
