    Sound issue in multiple xbox game pass games on pc


    Hi,

    some of game pass games in the xbox app have their sounds completely replaced by higher pitched noises.

    For example bridge constructor portal and undermine are just pure high pitched screetching sounds no matter what i do. i've reset the app and done it via package manager and all, nothing works. also redownloaded the games multiple times.

    it's not there in every games, just these specific ones for now.

    anyone have an idea of what to do?

    PROBLEM FIXED: Go to "Settings", "Sound", Click the arrow to the right of your selected headset, At the bottom of that screen underneath "Spatial Sound" select "Type" and then "Windows Sonic for Headphones". This has worked for me, hopefully it works for you too.

    I've had the exact same issue and have tried reinstalling the app, restarting the PC and the app multiple times. I'm hesitant to buy the game pass for PC at the minute as this issue is preventing me from browsing or getting any games!

    It's a problem with the Game Pass for a lot of titles. Generally switching to the "Game" sound output rather then the Synapse Surround sound fixes it. But it doesn't fix it with Ori :(

    I think it's to do with the fact the games run as UWP apps rather than normal PC applications (like everything else does).

    While getting rid of the 7.1 drivers is a valid workaround it'd be better if Microsoft actually paid more attention to their Xbox platform on PC as this isn't the first issue I've seen regarding non-Xbox peripherals with Game Pass games on PC.

    Sounds like you are mistaking gamepass for pc, which is dor pc only, with game pass ultimate, which includes live gold and game pass for console AND game pass for pc.

    Are you having issues with this game only, or with multiple games? It sounds like you may want to try a connection speed test through a PC. Please post the results here when you're done.
