Sound issue - game sound only

I'm in preview ring 4 and there was an update on the 18th. In Overwatch and Rocket League I'm getting no sound output. At first it was just Rocket League, now it's expanded. I have menu sounds while navigating etc. When I open the report a problem screen
there is a small window to the right that shows the open game while creating the report - while this is open the game sound comes thru for a bit and then cuts out.

Have tried headset vs speakers, different audio outputs, all to no avail. Again there is sound, but no game sounds.

Hello,

The office were I work has an Xbox 360 connected to a projector through an HDMI cable. When I tried to use it, the sound would not work at all. I know it is not the speakers, because when I use it with the Apple TV and TV, it plays sound. We have also connected
the consul to a different TV and the sound worked. I have tried to look up the solution on other forums, but none of the solutions work and no one else seems to know what the problem is. Help please?

K - fixed it. Had to reset the console (reset all but kept games and apps) and it resolved. Before I tried the games I also took the time to open up all the recommended ports in my router.

 

I'm having this issue every day. Only fix is a hard restart. System UI sounds work fine. Getting real annoying to randomly start a game to no audio.

 

I haven't experienced it since doing the console reset (don't recall where I found the option - under admin settings or somewhere)

 

Oddly I just had it happen again but it resolved when I closed the game (home, options, quit) and restarted the game.
