Sound from TV app continues after closed

Hi, I am new to the forum and to xbox.

I have just bought an xbox one and everything seems to be working great apart from the TV app. When I exit, sound continues to play even if I quit and open a game or another app like Netflix. I am using the hdmi in from my sky hd box.

Any ideas?

I can't hear no sound from Rare Replay, i just figure out the game app just kills all sound for everything, so i have to closed the game app to hear sound for anything.

There may be an option within the SkyHD box to turn off the Surround sound option (this would be in Settings on the Sky box). Try a toggle (on first, test. Then off, test). Please post results +/-

The sky box doesn't have a surround sound option, only Dolby D or stereo. I have tried stereo (which I would strongly prefer not to have to use) but getting getting the same problem. So when I finish watching TV, go to the home screen and quit the app, the
sound continues to come out even when a new app is opened.

 

Just to clarify a bit you have tried both sound options, both of which have the same issue (audio after closing the program). I can rule out the TV app is not snapped, yes (I hate to take the low road, but you never know unless asked)? Upon starting a new
application does the TV sound stop?

1. Make AND Model of STB (cable/sat box)

2. TV Provider

3. Layout (example: STB HDMI Xbox One HDMI TV) (please note splitters and hubs).

Thanks, yes that's right. I have tried both sound options on the Sky HD box. Same problem, the TV sound keeps coming out even after I have quit the TV app and I open another. I use the menu option on the home screen to quit.

My setup is

Sony Bravia KDL 40NX713 tv

Onkyo TX-SR607 AV receiver

Samsung Sky+HD box

Sky into Xbox one, into the Onkyo, into the TV, all Hdmi.

 

Just to add the model number for the Sky box is R008.063.74.000P

 

Hi, a further update on this.

Now, after I turn the xbox off when I have been using the tv app, when I turn it back on, the same problem occurs. This is proving to be a real pain.

In case relevant, I am using the new 50hz setting as am in the UK.

 

I have managed managed to topic this myself.

The Sky box has an optical out. I had this associated with the same channel as the xbox.

Net result is the sound works fine but is no longer digital out. My Sky box doesn't pass digital sound through hdmi.
