    Sound cuts out after playing a game when switching to other apps.


    After playing Assassin's Creed for a few hours, when we exit the game there are no console sounds (like the navigation/menu sounds) and then trying to launch other apps ie Hulu or YouTube, no sound plays from video. However, on the other hand, Netflix retains sound and the game itself continues to have sound if we go back into it.

    This has been happening for a few weeks now, and it seems like the only solution has been to unplug and re-plug in the TV which has become super annoying, and hoping someone has a more permanent fix for this? Is it a TV problem or an XBOX problem?

    We're on the Xbox Series x and have tried all of the first steps that are listed under "troubleshooting the sound on your xbox" help page.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    To fix this, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

    POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

    ​​​

    1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

    2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

    If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps.

    Try checking the sound settings on the xbox

    Also does it happen on any other games because it might be just that one game

    Hi, your recommendations didn't work. Even after both powercycling and resetting, the XBOX powered on with no sound in menu or in certain streaming apps -- the game sound still played fine though.

    Turning the TV off and on has been the only solution so far which is unsustainable and frustrating.

    Also tried a new HMDI cord with no resolution.
