Sound bar commands

PLEASE HELP!!

I have a Samsung FW450 soundbar which has a great sound etc, etc. However, when I say ""Xbox volume up/down"" the sound bar only responds with the number it's already on. I have tried the settings to go up or down 3 or 2 steps but still have the same problem.
I know the xbox can recognise it as I went through the audio set up with xbox sending mute command any ideas would be a great help. Many thanks. I have also tried saying the command twice but still fails.

Can I connect Xbox One directly to a sound bar?

I have the vizio S4251W-B4 5.1 sound bar hooked up straight to the xbox one using digital optical audio cable. Volume up and down command works for me. This sound bar supports DTS.

My Samsung sound bar works great with the Xbox One console - voice commands, auto shutoff, and more! ;D

The sound bar may not be combatible for xbox kinect use

I thought it must be compatible, as the set-up worked when xbox muted the soundbar? Also when you say "Xbox volume up" the volume number appears but does not go up or down.

hi there, i have the same problem with my xbox one s. The samsung hwd450 sound bar does not turn on with xbox on command. also mute takes two voice commands to work
