Sound 10dB louder in TV mode

So, I never wanted any of the extra stuff the xbox one does when I got it at launch. However, over the summer I decided to plug in the kinect and discovered, it's actually pretty cool. That lead to trying out the tv function a few days later. Wasn't quite
sure at first, but I really like it now. Unfortunately, the sound has always been 10dBs louder than everything else since I've made the switch. I have everything going through a Denon receiver(directTv, appleTV, PS3, PS4, x360, and xOne). Now the direcTv
goes through the xOne. Everything is a good volume at around -30dB, but the DirecTv is now too loud. I have to constantly keep turning it way up or down depending on what I'm doing. For instance, if I play a game on the xOne after watching directv, it's
too quiet. Or if I do the oppposite, it's too loud when I switch.

What's going on here? When I ran the Directv through the receiver, I could leave the volume pretty much the same all the time. Now it's always too loud.

Settings: HDMI audio, Bitstream, DTS. (think I tried Dolby Digital with the same result, uncompressed 7.1 and 5.1 gave no surround)

    :)

  3. Power supply buzzing noise

Normally, the sound is a lot less noticeable. But, I started watching Netflix after an episode of a show, the sound got disturbingly loud and annoying. The buzzing sound is louder than my TV at a normal level, it's painful. The only thing that drowns it
out is loud enough music. Help! Any suggestions? ):

    Hey there Splindicator!

Sorry to hear about the volume issue! Let start by having your Direct TV plug directly into the Xbox One, and have the Xbox One go directly to the TV, removing the audio receiver for now. That will help us narrow down the issue! Let us know if the issue
persists after trying that so we can continue help you get this sorted! Sound 10dB louder in TV mode :)

Finally got around to moving my Xbox one and decided to try this out in the process. Plugging the Xbox directly into the TV with the direct tv into the Xbox resulted in normalized sound across all apps, games, bluray, and TV. However, the sound is set to
stereo since it's going out of the TV and not a reciever.

After I plugged everything back in to the reciever with dtv inton Xbox, I tried stereo mode on the Xbox one but it was the same result as dts bitstream or any of the other options. Sound is louder in directv and lower in apps and games. Possibly could
be the Denon reciever, but not sure why it would decide to all of sudden boost volume for dtv, not sure how it would even know since the Xbox one is sending the same signal out regardless of what's being displayed. Just to note, it doesn't change the volume
in terms of number, it just sounds about 10dB louder.

Been fighting this bug since XB1 shipped. It's not a receiver problem nor cable box issue. Your description is accurate as the audio captured via the HDMI Input is indeed boosted relative to all other apps that playback from XB1.

    sound issues

OP...though levels do vary amongst different programs, it should be direct applications, like games, that are louder. Many TVs have dynamic sound leveling, so check your sound menu for an option like a volume limiter, or Night Mode and turn that off.

    .

    This might help.

    Sound Error

Hey, your description is fairly confusing, do you mean the console itself or the sound it's outputting to the speakers of your TV?

If it's the console itself and one of the first Xbox 360's, they are generally pretty loud and get louder with age, but if it's the sound output, have you moved to a different TV and had the same issue occur?
