    Hello there! Recently I've been having problems purchasing content from Live. More precisely, I've been trying to get some games on the weekly Live Gold sale (Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Capsized and Doodle Jump for Kinect), but I keep getting the error
    message from the thread title. That's when I try to buy the games from the web store, when I try to purchase them from my Xbox 360, I get the following message: "Can't authorize the selected payment option. Please select a different payment option or add a
    new one."

    I don't have a credit card so I use Visa Electron debit/gift cards which I connect to my PayPal account. I already tried removing the PayPal account from the list of payment options and adding it again, but that didn't help. Now, I currently live in Croatia,
    but I use a UK Live account since Croatia is not on the list of supported countries. I'm fully aware of the issues that can sometimes cause, but I don't think that's the problem here, the error I usually get when I try to buy IP-restricted content is different,
    and I've been able to buy most things from Live just fine until approximately one week ago (I last bought several XBLIG titles on March 9th). Now I can't seem to buy anything.

    That's also when I had an issue with one of my debit cards, so I suspect that might be the cause of the problem. About one week ago I noticed that the remaining funds on one of my debit cards were some €13 lower than what they should have been. Since it's
    a debit card, there's no way for me to see the list of transactions myself, so I contacted the bank. They told me that my account was showing some reservations (I'm not sure of the correct term, sorry, I'm not really well versed in these things) from Microsoft
    for purchases that have already been confirmed and cleared elsewhere. The cumulative amount was almost a perfect match (it was a bit lower, around €12). I was told they would cancel them so I should get a full refund the next day. That's already happened to
    me several times before with Amazon, every time I would use a debit card there, and there have never been any real problems with it; this was the first time with Microsoft, however.

    The next day I indeed received a refund, but only a partial one, some €5. I contacted the bank again, but they told me they couldn't do anything more about it. So I thought oh well, it's not a lot of money, but it appears that's also when my problems with
    purchasing on Live started. I did some searching before posting this thread, so I noticed some people with the same error message got flagged for suspicious activities. Could you please check if that's what's happened here and instruct me how to resolve the
    issue?

    Oh, by the way, I also got my Xbox One a couple of weeks ago. I don't think that would have anything to do with this, but I suppose it's worth mentioning, just in case.

    Hey CharlieJoe, official support here! And I am definitely sorry to see that this has been dragging out like this. We can do some digging on our end, but honestly phone/chat support is likely going to have a faster fix than we will. Can you try them one
    more time to check for a status on that previous 48 hour update they told you about?

    If there's still no help there, the Forum Support team here will make sure it gets taken care of. I just want to make sure we don't do anything over here that slows down anything they're working on.

  5. billing issues have to be solved with xbox Support on phone, on the boards we are Gamers like you and have no insight to your accounts "Sorry. Your purchase cannot be completed at this time. Please try again." ;)

    It appears that the online purchase tries to contact the XBox and see if there is space for the download. If the x box is off OR if you are not logged on the transaction fails.

    I have a 360 and a One and noticed that when the 360 drive if full the transaction fails and then after adding the One Noticed that only a box that is turned on and logged in can purchase. I use the same account on both devices.

    I'm trying to buy the game on xbox.com. Every time I try I am logged into PayPal and commerce.microsoft.com, my payment details are correct, everything looks fine. As I already stated, I purchased some Microsoft Points without any problems.

    I am from Germany. After I tried to buy the game with my region set to Germany, which didn't work, I set my region to US, just for testing. But the error message occurs even with the region set to United States.

    Another thing I discovered is that I can't even download the GoW trailer movies. Same error message. I thought about my account being a teenager account or something like that, but in my profile it says adult account, so that can't be the reason either.

    I am getting this message for any game I have tried to download from Xbox.com I am trying to download all the digital only GFWL games. Every now and then it will let me download a game so I know the payments are correct and the bank didn't even see MS trying
    to pull from my card. I tried Paypal and a credit card I have been on the phone with Xbox and the Windows support team for hours and they escalated my issue but it will take 19 days to get a reply and the GFWL marketplace will be closed down by then. This
    is an absolute fail for MS and I have had nothing but problems since signing up for the beta and the currency switchover. The last game I need to download that will be gone forever is Dark Void PC and I have been trying for several days. It wouldn't even let
    me download the free game Microsoft Flight which also tells me it isn't a billing issue so I finally downloaded steam and got it through there but Dark Void isn't available through steam with GFWL support. If anyone knows another way I can get this game before

    We'd love to help you get this sorted out but first we'll need a bit more info. Are you seeing an eight digit error code appearing along with this message? If so, what is that exact error?

    Also, have you made sure that all of your billing info is up to date and correct at commerce.microsoft.com? And does your current physical region match the region at that page as well as the region of your Gamertag?

    Looking forward to getting this resolved for you.
