Sorry, we could not start media player 0x87de2712 error

Getting that message plus 0x87de2712 error code when trying to start up the media player app on xbox one. Just returns to home screen every time. Any help appreciated

Blu ray player not working

I get an error message that says: Sorry, we could not start Blu-ray player. If you have a disc, please insert it now. (0x87de2712)

Has anyone got any ideas? Or an explanation? "Sorry, we could not start xbox video. If you have a disc, please insert it now. ( 0x87de2712) "

Thought I was being clever by uninstalling the media player app and try to reinstall it.... The app is "unavailable" in the app store... Great. Lol :/

 

Having same issue trying to stream from pc

 

The same thing happened to me. It stopped working with the same error. When I tried to uninstall and reinstall it, app is unavailable. Was working fairly nicely before.

 

Having this issue trying to play Elder Scrolls online. It wants me to put in a disc but I bought the game online and downloaded it to my hard drive. Been playing it for more than a week now. Any help is helpful????!

 

same issue here - started about 23:00 hrs - wtf ?

 

most of the time , Ox87 can mean a glitch in your profile....signing out and back in can fix it , or if you need to hit it harder , remove your profile , reboot everything , then re add your profile...

 

So that's the only way to fix problem?

 

Booted from standby this morning and the app was available to download again. No idea what "fixed" it. I DID install and remove developer mode but i never activated it and likely unrelated.

I was having the same issue. Checked for an update in preview, there was one, got the update and still didn't work. Hard reset the console and signed in and voila, everything works again.
