Same here. NAT is open and console and website says all services are available. I can play online. But I can't see my friends list or activity feeds. Same goes for the SmartGlass app on my iPad (iOS) and Note4 (Android). This is definitely on Microsoft's
end.

i'm in the same boat. Some apps seem to work.. like Netflix, but can't see friends online. Can't play Destiny. wtf!?? Also Xbox 360 unable to connect to XBL at all.

Just got on because my friend just got a Xbox one and it say for both of us we have no friend on so what wrong

 

Hey all! There are some widespread issues tonight causing problems with the Xbox.com site and Xbox Live (including games like Destiny and apps like Netflix/Hulu).

There hasn't been any official word on what's going on or when to expect everything to be back to normal, but I've heard a few people say their connections are starting to come back online.

I'd give it a few hours to start to return to normal. Hopefully once everything comes back online your issues will be resolved!

 

Myself and others noticed after the Destiny update today we were having troubles joining parties. The dashboard was saying it couldnt show me my friends at this time. Later when i would try to invite someone to a party it would say it couldnt send out invites
at this time please try again later. Now None of my friends are showing up in destiny. PLus party voice chat is still not working. Also while all of these other problems were going on . I was looking at the store (gold members) . All of a sudden the store
refreshed and all of the games disappeared but 2 . They are still not back up.One more thing. Why does this site keep saying im in the UK it says my currency is pounds. I have tried to change it but it stays UK. I am in Alabama, no where near the UK.

 

It's a distributed denial of service attack(DDos) apparently

DDoS attacks are where they spams the server with useless network traffic bringing them down. Probably explained better on

Wikipedia.

It's not actually a hack.

As DDoS attacks are not hacks your accounts should be safe.

If in doubt change your password to one that is a random string of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols to make it difficult to guess. Obviously make sure you can remember the password.

 

I like many others have been experiencing varying levels of xbox live service interruption or the complete lack of service all together. After seeing many posts on various media outlets I've come to realize that the xbox live service was atracked. I'm still
trying to figufigure out how it's even possible bUT I'm also not a computer programmer or anything of the sort. I'm just wondering after all the confusion and fuss over dealing with these people and what they have done are our accounts safe? Was any personal
info targeted or at risk? What are we paying for if this is something that this group has been doing on and off again for the past few months for fun without threat of legal acrion? We pay for service and have to deal with people like this and continue to
pay for service that isn't even protected against this kind of thing. I've been with live for over 9 years and if a rag tag group of teens grouted up in a basement somewhere can take down a worldwide service then why are we paying? Sorry if I sound mad or
have repeated myself or whatever but I'm a little upset over the ease of which this occurred and for the amount of time it has lasted. I saw the post about the FBI being involved but whay about us? Are we entitled to any type of compensation over time or service
lost?

 

I can play destiny which is an online only game and other things seem to work as well. my connections are fine my NAT is open i cleared the cache. All thats left is for me to do is a factory reset or for someone to tell me whats going on.
