"Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now"

Discus and support "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now" in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I'm trying to get rid of this junk tag that MS made for my main email at some point so I can get my real gamer tag back.     I'm trying to get rid of this junk tag that MS made for my main email at some point so I can get my real gamer tag back. This is how it's supposed to look:

    1. A (junk tag attached to main email) -> C (junk email)

    2. B (Main gamer tag) - > A (main email)

    I'm fairly certain I I downloaded my main email to the 360 over a month ago and made the junk email, but I'm still getting the error. Both account meet all the conditions. I'm really frustrated because I obtained an Xbox One a while back and am afraid to
    use either my main email or my main gamer tag's email because I don't want any of the 30-day timers to reset. This is complete and utter BS. I only got the Xbone to help a guy out with money, and now I'm totally remembering why I dropped MS consoles and services.

    I cannot use the chat service because the name fields are grayed out for some stupid reason (http://imgur.com/39hCbLw), and I don't have time for drawn-out phone calls. I would think with two-step verification and phone codes that this kind of crap should
    be outdated and done away with.

    Is there any sort of remedy to this situation, or am I just boned into using a junk email that I had to create years and years ago?

    To save you some time, I would like to suggest that you go to
    http://account.live.com
    and sign in there then click on Edit Security Info.

    • Do you have a cellular phone number listed there?
    • Do you have an alternate email addresse?
    • Is there a Security Question and Secret Answer?
    If all three have been completed, then I'd suggest you visit
    http://support.xbox.com/contact-us?xr=footnav#0:6:3
    and click on Request A Call, or

    go to http://tinyurl.com/XBLnumbers to find your national support line, dial in and choose Option 2 (although Request A Call is quicker).





    And, just to be certain, you're not trying to change it on the Xbox website, are you? For that option is Well and Truly Borked, has been for months: See

    Just so I understand, you're trying to migrate your main Gamertag to an email that already has a Gamertag associated with it, is that correct? Unfortunately that is not possible as outlined in

    this guide
    regarding Xbox Live Profiles.

  5. That's incorrect. It's like this:

    A is my main email with the gamer tag I want GONE.

    B is my old email with the gamer tag I WANT.

    C is a Microsoft account I made to move gamer tag A to.

    I just want to understand if I'm doing anything wrong here.

    I downloaded both Xbox Live profiles to a 360 quite some time ago and made Microsoft account C around the same time. I'm afraid to use the Xbox One I bought a few weeks ago because I don't want to reset any timers. I'm looking to close old email accounts
    I have, and the one my main gamer tag (B) is attached to is one of them, so I need to move it to my main email (A).

    I do not have the time to make phone calls, and the chat system will not work for me due to the issue that's shown in the imgur link.

    Sorry to hear you're having problems. Please check the link that Miss Bijoux posted above for possible reasons why an email cannot be changed. See if any of those relate to you.

  7. I've had that link bookmarked for a month now. That's the issue I'm having. All of the Microsoft accounts should meet the criteria for being able to move gamer tags, and yet I get the error. I just want to know what triggers the 30-day security timer so
    I can avoid it. I'm sick of waiting to change Microsoft accounts, and I know I'm going to have to wait another 30 days once I get rid of this stupid tag that MS made for my main email.

    My biggest issue is that I cannot use the chat service due to the issue in the imgur link I posted. I don't have the means to call in to the phone service.

    Hey ExtantFiend6587 -

    If you're having trouble accessing chat support, please try going to
    account.microsoft.com
    and filling in your billing information on your profile page. This should help propagate the fields on the chat page so you can use chat support. That said, there is no way to bypass the 30 day wait restriction when it comes to changing
    account information.
