    So today I turned on my xbox 360 for the first time in a year. I have a little cousin coming over so I needed to prep my xbox 360 with some co op games. But to my surprise I couldnt log in with my account. So i decided to delete it and maybe re download
    it to get the problem fixed, but sadly that is not the case. I try to log in to download my account to the console but I just continuously get this error: "Sorry, there's a problem with the credentials that you are using to sign in. Go to
    https://account.live.com to fix the problem"

    Ive tried every possible thing I can do. And please dont say change your password because I currently cant due to me having changed some security information yesterday so I cant really even access the security page till next month. Please any help?

  2. Sorry, There's a problem with the credentials that you're using to sign in.

    Resolved: I was able to contact support and I found out the reason I wasn't able to login / download my profile was because my password had too many characters. the Limit for the 360 is currently 16 characters. Just in case anybody has this issue in the
    future.

    This message keeps coming up when I'm trying to sign into my account. It tells me to go to
    https://account.live.com to fix the problem. But I have no luck going there. I'm able to log in online on my PC, and my Xbox One is able to connect with no issue.

    I tried clearing my cache as well as deleting my profile and trying to download the profile onto my 360, but that doesn't work either.

    One of two things could be causing this.

    Like the others have said it could be the password but what they have not said is that for the 360s including the emulators on the Ones the password box is limited to 16 characters so if your password is longer than 16 characters it will see it as a wrong
    password when trying to sign in.

    The second thing like the others have said is 2 factor authentication the 360s including the emulators do not play well with 2 factor authentication. You would either need to turn this off or use the app password.

    Not sure if y'all tried changing your profile / account password through xbox.com?

    I would first change your account password, and then go from there. If not I would go and contact xbox / microsoft support @

    I had the same problem but I just changed the password, or it moght be 2FA

    lately there have been technical problems, please try again later today although they should be fixed but if the problem persists the best I can recommend is that you help xbox by reporting the problem through the following link:

    https://support.xbox.com/xbox-live-status

    Click on the green "Report" button and fill in the information as detailed as possible.

    This way, Xbox will know that there is a problem and will be able to work to fix it as soon as possible.

    Keep in mind that this public forum is just gamers like you trying to guide and help other gamers. We are not Microsoft employees.

    Another option I can recommend is if your problem is on pc. reinstall windows or check if your version is up to date as a last resort. I use windows 10 and have had no problems with anything, but I have noticed that windows 11 does, if so you could also report the problem through microsoft support at the following link.

    I found the thing to generate an app password but that doesn’t work either and gives me the same error.
