Sorry, that didn't work for some reason (0x80070002)

Hi,

I have a Day One edition Xbox One which came with FIFA 14. I redeemed the code and played the game a few times after release, no problems.

Today I noticed, with the new 'game storage install management' menu, that FIFA was in fact installed twice on the Xbox One, so I decided to uninstall both and try to re-install to have only one game install (of 9.8Gb, instead of 19.6Gb total!). One uninstalled
fine and is now gone, the other has the option to uninstall, which seems to work fine, but afterwards it's still there... Furthermore, when I try to start it now I get the following error: "Sorry, that didn't work for some reason (0x80070002)"

Is there any way I can get rid of this broken installation of FIFA? It just seems like dead space on my storage now...

When I try to sign into my account it takes longer than usual to load. It then prompts me to a window that says "Sorry, that didn't work for some reason. (0x80070002) ". I've restarted my Xbox and wifi but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know what's happening?

please try a power cycle like mentioned here:
support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console

If the game is still present after it, try uninstalling it again.

Let us know the results.

Have this exact same problem. I ended up reseting the console to wipe everything and re downloaded all my games and apps, which took forever. Everything was fine for about a day and now fifa is back on there twice and the second instance won't uninstalll.

 

I think I've found a solution. It appears at least for me that the 2nd install isn't actually taking up any space on the HDD even though it reports as such. The 2nd install only appeared for me when i changed my consoles location to something other than
what it was set to when I initially installed the game. Setting the console back to the initial location removed the 2nd instance of the game.

 

i have the same problem with call of duty. 96 giga. I tried to reset from factory. Wont work

 

You might need to go into games and apps, highlight the game with problems, press the menu button, and click manage game, and uninstall the internal data from your console. You might have data on the game itself that is messed up. Hope this helps
