Sony Receiver turns off randomly when playing XBOX

Sony Receiver turns off randomly when playing XBOX ONE. Only happens when playing XBOX so I am pretty certain the XBOX is the issue. Any Ideas?

Need help setting up Sony surround sound with Xbox One

I have a Sony receiver (STRDA5300ES) and the Xbox One controls the receiver just fine. On/off, volume, and mute all work. It turns the tv on/off also, but does not control tv when I say volume up or mute. I put the receiver model in when I did the initial set up. Not sure how it assumes I use that for the volume and not the tv. Only thing I can think is somehow the IR port on your receiver is obstructed.

Some xbox games cause my tv to turn off and on constantly

Hi i recently bought a new tv ( sony bravia kd43xf7003 ) and run into an issue where my tv will randomly turn off and back on again while playing certain games. Ive noticed it most playing wolfenstein 2 and today it happened with dead rising 3. Trouble is
when it starts shutting down it will continue to turn off and on until i either turn the xbox off or switch over inputs to tv making it unplayable.

Ive looked for possible solutions online but not found anything that has helped, tried various hdmi leads and swapped inputs, also tried various tv and xbo settings and turning off allow ycc 4;2;2 as people reported problems with that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Oli

I'm sorry to see any receiver power issues! This is definitely odd. Do you happen to have your power settings set up for your console to control your receiver? You can see how to

adjust your power settings here. If you have them set up as to control it, then go ahead and toggle that to have it do nothing, power cycle your console, then set up back up to turn it on/off.

Let me know how that goes! We'll look at our other options if that doesn't help you out.

I understand your frustration with your console randomly turning off when you are trying to play a game. Do you get any error messages before the console turns off? Does it turn off while playing any other game?

no its not turning on or off it just beeps randomly every few minutes and beeps when its turned off it never turns on or off when its doing this beeping.

Hi I'm having the exact same problem as the OP. My Xbox "dings" when it turns on/off and it's also randomly turning itself on.

hi. I have a problem close to yours. I could do everything up till the games. I have a Xbox one S. I go on a game play for a couple mins. It turns off randomly and when I turn it back on it it shows the ventelation warning. So the more I try to play after
turning it on and playing, the quicker it shuts off.
