    Sony HTST7 Soundbar

    I have a Sony HTST7 soundbar (http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HTST7-Sound-Wireless-Subwoofer/dp/B00E3AKFA8). It has 7.1 surround sound.

How do I configure the Xbox One to output the highest quality and compatible audio for my Sony soundbar? I am not sure which works or is better over HDMI, 7.1 uncompressed or DTS.

How do I set XBox One to turn on my soundbar when I use the voice command "Xbox On"? The soundbar is not listed in the AV receiver devices list.

    :)

I'm having the same problem. Tried 2 different sound bars. No longer works with Sony Soundbar or Samsung Soundbar.

You'll absolutely want to hook your X1 up through the soundbar via HDMI then HDMI out of your soundbar to your tv. For the best settings I would try 7.1 uncompressed in the HDMI sound settings. Your soundbar will be able to decode the uncompressed signal.
The X1 might not allow you to choose that option since there aren't dedicated speakers. My Samsung soundbar can decode a 5.1 uncompressed signal but the X1 doesn't allow me to choose that option. If it doesn't allow you to select 7.1 uncompressed I would choose
    DTS.

Eventually there will be a patch that adds Dolby Digital, but your soundbar would certainly be able to decode the 7.1 uncompressed.

As far as the voice commands and the X1 not having your model, two things. You can try and google the remote code and manually enter it under the troubleshooting settings. Or you can play around with other Sony models (maybe an older model number for your
system) until you find one that works. I bet Sony uses the same remote code for most of their systems.

Thanks Thunder, I have switched to 7.1 Uncompressed and will try it out in a bit. At least its more explicit and I know what that means as oppose to DTS.

I chose a random model and it worked, very surprised.

    2 for 2, thanks.
