Son's account is malfunctioning (always offline, cannot change friend settings, etc)

I set up an xbox account for my son to use with his tablet while playing Minecraft, so that we could easily play together on a minecraft realm that I'd set up. Unfortunately, a few days ago he was no longer able to join my realm and I've been unable to
remedy it.

I suspected it was an issue with his friend status, so I checked my friends list - he was offline, even though I'd just helped him sign in on Minecraft and he was playing right next to me. I went in to the parental settings and tried several times to set
his "accept friends" setting to "allowed" but every time it would just go back to "not allowed" and sometimes there would be an error message in red text on the page with no specific information (something like "an error has occurred, try again later.")

I tried signing onto his account directly from another browser, and saw my pending invite which I accepted. No dice - another "error has occurred, try later" message. I also still did not show him as online in my friends list, even though I was presently
signed in on the other page. His account seems to be permanently screwed up, and until it's resolved I cannot give him access to the minecraft realm that I'm paying for. His sister can play on it just fine, same device, same household, same everything except
xbox live account.

I accidentally typed in the wrong email address when registering my son's account, putting talktak.net instead of talktalk.net as the domain. As a result, he/we cannot get in to his account to change parental settings etc.

Can anyone help?

Friends always appear offline

For the past couple of weeks all most of my friends always appear offline. I have checked my account settings and everything looks good. I have asked them to check their account settings and it says they are online. Others can see them online but they
always appear offline for me. I have tried to reboot the console and unfriend/refriend them but nothing has worked. I cannot message them on join parties even when they invite me because console has them as offline.

Which as mentioned once set the age of an account cannot be changed and it has always been legally binding

I am having the same issue and when going to the settings on the family account, there is no option to change any settings allowing my son to add friends on Minecraft on his switch. I can set screen time restrictions, content restrictions, etc. But nothing
for allowing him to add friends on applictions.

Those restrictions are for EA only. My son plays his EA games just fine, he just can not be online at the time. He does not really care and just plays offline for that game. Your son will be able to play all his other games online no problem. I have
my son's settings that I approve friends and have to add my password (he does not know it) and that he can ONLY hear friends because in some game lobbies there is a lot of swearing, etc. Additionally, young children are easy targets for phishing schemes-
give me points and I will get you XYZ. When he is in a party with people not on his friends list, I can go in and change the settings allowing voice, or let him add them as friends. I always have the voice going through the TV and the headset so I can monitor
conversations.

Have his friends changed their online status to friends only too? More than likely, this person is still following your son via your sons friends.

Once you change the online status to 'friends only' your son will appear as 'offline' to anyone not on his friends list, therefore preventing random players joining his games. However, if his friends don't change their privacy settings too, this person
will still be able to join his games through them.

As for the complaints, they are not instant. Each one is reviewed by a real person. This person harassing your son will be suspended from LIVE but you need to patient.
