Sonic Mania Framerate Drops

Hi there,

I believe the framerate drops occur when your try to play the game with your digital license because as you have stated, you don't own this DLC digitally. Since the DLC is owned physically on disc, the disc must be in the console to verify ownership of license
and the data is sent to the publishers to allow play.

It's best as you stated since you own the game and DLC on disc, to just play the game with the physical copy, and don't try to launch the game without the disc in the console. Do what works best, and if the framerate continues to drop, then I recommend re-installing
the game using the disc.

The game keeps pausing every few seconds.

I dont own the Encore DLC digitally and there for i dont have the license to play it. I used the disc to install the DLC. When I put in the Sonic Mania Plus disc, this gives me the license and everything works.

Your best bet is to follow Diego's advice, and play the game only while the disc is inserted. More than likely, the game doesn't know what to do without your disc in there since your save data now includes the DLC that is only on the Disc.

Thanks for coming to the forums. The disk is only used for the license of the content, as the content is installed on your console like the game. You can try

power cycle the console. You can also try these steps for
slow performance. If you like can also uninstall the game and DLC and reinstall it.
