Sonic & Knuckles lock on

I've been trying for the past 2 weeks to figure out why i can't lock on with sonic 3 with sonic & knuckles i can't seem to figure it out & it keeps saying to download it again & then say manage game to install DLC or something like that. is there
anyway to fix this problem & its also with sonic 2 & 1.

What cool/different/unique game feature/mechanic do you miss? We need more creativity

That game your are talking about where different discs gave you different monsters reminded me of Sonic & Knuckles on the Genesis/Mega Drive.

If you haven't played it Sonic & Knuckles was the continuation of Sonic 3 and when you added Sonic 3 on top of the lock-on cartridge you got the complete game Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Now when you put in Sonic 1 on the lock-on cartridge and pressed A,B,C & Start on the control pad you got the Blue Sphere Game (which was the special stages in Sonic 3 & Knuckles) and you could put different games in to the lock-on cartridge and get a single
level per each different cartridge.

Yeah, I never had that game but I remember my friends use to always talking about doing that but I never understood what they were talking about haha

Hey, ihanselx3! From what I can tell, it seems that Lock-on technology was only available for original release (Sega and Windows). Have you tried setting this up on an Xbox 360 first, then uploading the save to the Cloud there to sync on the Xbox One?

If that doesn't work, I suggest filling out the survey at the bottom of
this sticky. This is sent to the team that looks into any back compat issues. We'll be able to get official word from them on the situation and reach back out to you after that.

I've just played Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Knuckles in Sonic 2 and Blue Sphere on my 360, made a save onto the cloud for each of them, and it seemed to actually be the fix I needed to be able to play them on the X1. Thanks for the persistence in help, got there
eventually.

I guess rather than pick up on our Sonic 1, 2 and 3 ownership or cloud saves it picks up on the separate saves WITHIN Sonic & Knuckles for Blue Sphere, Knuckles in Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

Not at all. When you download Sonic And Knuckles there's a area that says "Extras" Under extras you see "Sonic 3" And if you have sonic 3 or Sonic 2 downloaded it lets you connect sonic and knuckles to one of those games. HOpe it helped.
