Sonic & Knuckles lock-on issue with other Sonic games on XB1

Also no success.

Any chance anyone (Microsoft or otherwise) even knows what's going on/why this is happening and if there's a more official fix/patch in the works?

 

my mate had issue to fix it he had to sign out of his profile power cycle his console then load game when he came back on

Steps

1) sign out

2) power cycle your xbox one

3) sign back in

4) and load the game

How to power cycle

1)on your console hold power button until it turns of and reboots your console then wait

(around 10 seconds)

 

Hey OrbitalBeard and Foamy036, would you be able to try again on an Xbox 360, just to make sure it's working for you there?

Power cycling did not fix this problem for me. I also don't have a 360 to test with.

I've just played Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Knuckles in Sonic 2 and Blue Sphere on my 360, made a save onto the cloud for each of them, and it seemed to actually be the fix I needed to be able to play them on the X1. Thanks for the persistence in help, got there
eventually.

I guess rather than pick up on our Sonic 1, 2 and 3 ownership or cloud saves it picks up on the separate saves WITHIN Sonic & Knuckles for Blue Sphere, Knuckles in Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

 

I've just noticed this second page. If what I've done is what others need to do, then anyone that no longer has a 360 (or never had one and bought these games on the X1) are stuck needing a proper fix.

[Mod Removed]... Guess we'll have to see what an official staff member can suggest at this point.

Glad to hear it's working for you now after making those new saves on the Xbox 360. We do recommend anyone still having the problem after trying what you did to fill out that survey so the teams can continue to look into it.

I really hope this issue is being worked on by the BC team. It's pretty frustrating that I've never been able to get the lock-one feature to work on my XB1.

It sounds like this can be remedied if you still own an Xbox 360 and you upload a lock-on save file to the cloud. Well, a lot of us don't own 360s anymore. It's why BC is such a great feature for us.

So, I'm really hoping MS is working on a solution for those of us who want to play the lock-on versions of these games. Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles in particular are significantly improved when played together in lock-on mode.

I really do appreciate the help and suggestions offered in this thread, but I hope a permanent solution that doesn't involve using an Xbox 360 can be implemented soon.

To clarify, I had verified the post because those are the verified steps that need to be taken in order to allow this functionality to work through Backward Compatibility.

What you'll need to do is boot up the game on your profile on an Xbox 360 console and create a save file in the cloud for the Sonic Games. Once this is done, you'll be able to use the lock on features on Xbox One.

I understand you don't have an Xbox 360, but would it be possible to use a friend or family member's console to do this? We'd also love for you to fill out the Backward Compatible survey
HERE as well. This way the teams will have more specific information on what you're seeing, specifically how you're seeing the issue without an Xbox 360 console.

Keep us in the loop and let us know what happens after you fill out the survey and if you get a chance to create those saves on an Xbox 360 console.

 

After testing this myself, I think that currently the only solution is still as Foamy036 stated: Have the save for the Lock-on content created on an X360 saved to the Cloud. On the XOne, S&K doesn't seem to see the other games (probably due to the different
save structure of the system, which would require a modification to the game itself, making it an XOne-unique update which won't happen to an X360 game), so can't load the Extra content without the save already existing on the cloud.

Hey everyone!

An update for S&K was just released which fixes this issue! You no longer need a cloud save from an Xbox 360 console in order to play the lock-on games. As long as you own Sonic 1, 2, and/or 3, you can access the bonus content for each game within S&K.
