    Sometimes, when I turn on my Xbox one, it will just show a black screen with the "X" orb/icon on the middle and the upper right of the screen.

    After this, my xbox would either be:

    A.) unresponsive to to any inputs (kinect commands, controller, etc) and stays on the "X" screen or

    B.) responds to commands (ex: would open the kinect command console when you say "xbox", or clicking buttons on the controller would make a sound on the tv)
    BUT would not display the commands. It will just stay on that "X" screen.

    I just want to get an idea as to why my xbox do this sometimes. If it any helps my xbox is on instant-on and, looking at the version, seems to be up to date.

    I only have 2 games installed btw (bf4 which I havent played in a while and gta V which I just bought 2 weeks ago). No apps installed at all. Ventilation is very good, and the t.v. cable box is not attached to the passthrough so that should not be the problem.
    HD usage is around 28% so I still have 72% free space which is still a lot.

    After turning on Xbox One system, when depressing the middle X button to return to the home screen, this error shows up and not allowing me to return to the home screen. Also happens when finished playing a game, pressing the middle X button to return to
    home screen cases this error. Can anyone help? I have two controllers and error occurs when either are used, and have unplugged modem with same results after turning the Xbox on again.

    Black screen on Power Up

    When I turn on my Xbox, instead of going to the home screen it just goes to a black screen with the Xbox logo in the upper right hand corner. I can power off with the controller and hard reset but it only goes to the black screen. Any suggestions?

    I'm now experiencing what appears to be the same issue as Terrell Watson. My xbox had started behaving glitchy and slow for the past week or so. Then today at start up my Xbox One was stuck at the green loading screen for 10 plus minutes before the screen
    went black. My Xbox One then hung on a blank black screen forever sometimes displaying an icon for a few seconds before going completely black again.

    Good tip, and it works the same on my LG OLED 65E6V 3D tv. You have to activate the HDR to get the proper results. I get all the green V signs telling my my TV supports everything there is on this list, but still i have a problem on my Xbox One X.

    After a week of normal use and no problems with HDR and games like the new Assassins Creed, Forza 7, and Gears of War 4, i suddenly get the problem that the screen turns black (but sound also dissapears), and after a second or so, it will return to normal.
    Sometimes this happens in intervals from between 1 to 5 minutes, and also sometimes it takes a longer time to get the screen back to normal.

    I never changed anny settings, i turned on the HDR on HDMI socket 1 (the one i use for Xbox One X)

    Setup:

    Xbox One X.

    Monster cable HDMI Ultra HD Black Platinum.

    LG OLED 65E6V 4K 3D tv.

    I tested if i have the same problem if i play a HDR 4K movie, but no frame drops, it never turns black and then back on. So only when i play games with HDR support. When i play GTA V (does not have a 4k/hdr update) i can play normaly. All games that don't
    use HDR play normal. Oh, and the first week of use, i also did not had any problems with HDR games, it happened just a few day's ago, but the screen turns off and back one more frequently now.

    Would be nice if i would have a update or find out if i need to send my Xbox to Microsoft or not.

    I experienced this as well and coildnt figure it out! When the screen turns black (like most of the level in thr mouldwood depths) you need to create the spirit light orb around you so the darkness doesnt kill you!
