Something wrong with connection

I know there are a ton of posts on the web similar to the issue I am having, but none of them seem to help me.

the issue is - NAT won't open up. I have tried port forwarding, uPnP, DMZ, even bought new router ... Nothing. It won't go above moderate. Called the Xbox support the other day, they suggested connecting over wireless instead wired - it did open my NAT,
changed back to wired, it was still open for a couple hours and then went back to moderate. Tried switching wired -> wireless again, but didn't work anymore.

port forwarding and uPnP don't seem to do anything (stays strict), DMZ makes it moderate

thoughts/ideas?

Nevermind, I found a fix (for now at least) in another thread, I just had to remove/add my account.

When I booted up my XBOX this morning I had an error message, I didn't write the whole thing down but it was E200 something. I did a reset and it booted up without giving me that error message, but now I'm having issues with Live. Every time I try and
play a game I get the "we couldn't get your latest saved data" message. I went through and checked the network setting and everything works fine. I thought I'd try an app instead of a game so I loaded up the Halo Channel, which was unavailable. But Halo
Channel always has issues so I tried Netflix. Netflix needed an update, which it was able to download fine, but when I tried to run Netflix I got the "we couldn't get your latest saved data" error again.

 

Sounds like you might me using a gateway (modem/router combo device) for your modem. What is the make and model of your modem and router?

 

My router is Trendnet TEW-752DRU, don't have a modem. I'm on fiber connection, Ethernet cable comes straight from converter-box-thingy to router.

 

Have you tried plugging your console directly into the device provided by your ISP? If so does it change your NAT settings?

 

You mean plugging into the fiber converter-box-thingy? Haven't tried, have no access to it - it's in the basement in ISP's server room, locked up.

 

Yes that is exactly what I mean. Sounds like your ISP is doing some NATing which is causing you a problem. From what you are saying it sounds as if you are in an apartment/college dorm type situation. Is that correct?

 

unplug your router from the Ethernet cable and plug in the xbox , reboot everything and check again...if nat still moderate , its your isp or the converter-box-thingy in the basement , you will need somebody that does have access to it and its settings
....

 

@Genesis1953 - it's an apartment, yeah

@Bimnog - won't work, my ISP has a MAC filter, so unless I somehow change the MAC of Xbox, it won't be able to connect.

I will get in touch with my ISP first thing on Monday, maybe I can get a public connection or a second Ethernet cable from the converter-box (for Xbox) to my apt.
