"Something went wrong" when I tried to buy Xbox Live Gold

My Xbox Live Gold membership just ran out so I tried to buy it on my Xbox One. I pressed "confirm" and after it loaded it read "something went wrong If this happens again please enter the error cod at xbox.com/errorhelp". But there was no error code! I tried
it again and again but still nothing. I tried buying it online too and there was still no error code.

XBOX LIVE GOLD 1 MONTH TRIAL

I have an account for the xbox live and I saw a free GOLD 1 Month Trial and after I confirmed the free purchase it says that "sorry something went wrong" I edited my account billing info it was all done right and tried again but it says the same notification.
"something went wrong" what should I do?

Everytime I try to redeem my xbox one gold live prepaid card it says "Something Went Wrong"!!!!! Please Help!!!1

Try verifying your payment method to make sure it is still valid.

This is also happening to me. I can buy a 1 month extension but cannot get a 12 month membership. I am based in South Africa and they are hitting us with a 218% increase this month or next so I think they are stopping you from buying at the cheaper price.
Which region are you in? They have increased a few countries and you might be in the same boat.
