    something to think about xbox

this has probably already been said or mentioned before but here goes neways

for one reason or another my controllers drop on the floor, it happens to us all

between cats and kids and many other things , the controllers are not cheap ...

I would like to see a interactive troubleshooting / item in system settings

to help check or diagnose isuues with controllers or just to make sure eveverthing is good to go

ive had sticks stick or not go back to 0 or buttons sticking among other things like

trigger buttons squeeking ( which mine is doing )

the *app* would do something like this

    * Slowly squeeze left trigger / right trigger*

    *pull trigger buttons*

    * press *** buttons *

so on and so forth and the system should be able to tell if there is a problem

** xbox identified that left thumbstick point *0* is off or something of the like*

or * xbox detected right trigger is ********

should be able to fix issues that can be done by the console possibly the 0* point thumbstick issue *( if its not too severe) and other such simple things

or at least suggest fixes or causes

I think it would also save time money and man power for more important isssues what cannot be solved that way

instead of having to run and jump into the forums, or contacting support for little stuff

even if its just for peace of mind

with todays tech and everything else im surprised this isn't already a thing

    sincerely

okay. lets say you buy micro transaction currency. now when you die you lose money. so will you lose the fake online money you just bought with real world money every time you die? that's messed up.

Wear and Tear is not worth spending so many resources to develop this system you describe that will ultimately tell you that you need a new controller.

  5. A system like that could be useful. Would not take much to recognize that the controller is not in the correct position and is sticking or just not right. Same with the triggers or buttons. I could see that being done easy. But it would not be very useful
for things that one could do to fix them since they are not going to tell you things to do internally obviously. I had a few 360 controllers with drift in the right stick and I would use sticks from other controllers and replace them. Had to solder the good
stick in place and reassemble the controller. MS is not going to put things like that in the troubleshooting/fix recommendations.

And pretty much it is easy to tell if something is not working correctly. At that point there is limited things one could do to fix it themselves. Generally I find if someone is so inclined to fix it they probably would not need such an app or troubleshooting.

If your controllers are constantly dropping on the floor....um be more careful. be more aware of why they keep falling on the floor and stop It happening, maybe put the controller on the floor instead of perching it on somewhere it falls from constantly.
Doesn't seem that difficult to me.

Seriously GG? Seriously???????? My controller fell off the arm of the chair I used to put it on, first time I thought "**** second time I thought "I wont put that there again as it keeps falling off" GG I have never ever walked on a controller.
Sometimes I wonder if Darwin was correct.......

  10. I keep my controller in 1 of 2 places - my bookshelf where my TV sits or on my bedside table - it's never dropped from either location (although I have dropped it on several occasions from other areas). Also, for the record, I've never stepped on it... I
merely suggested that that was a possibility if you leave it on the floor. something to think about xbox ;)
