Something strange is happening when I plug in my power supply...

I recently moved in to a new place. When i hooked up my year one xbox initially everything worked fine.

Today I moved my console into a different room to play. When I moved it back to my room something odd started happening. I would plug the power supply in to the wall, orange light come on indicating it is powered. When I plugged the power supply into the
xbox, istead of the light turning white and staying on, the light turned off and the console is not powered.

There was no issue when I played in the other room. It started when I moved it back to where I had it set up in my room.

I have never had any major issues wirh my console before. Any advice would be appreciated.

Solution 6: Plug your power supply directly into a wall outlet

Your Xbox One power supply is equipped with internal surge protection. Plug the power supply directly into a wall outlet. Some surge protectors can cause the power supply to not work as designed. This can affect performance.

Power supply shorting out

My Xbox one power supply is keep on shorting out when I plug it into the Xbox but when it's not the plug into the Xbox it's fine

Try plugging the xbox into a different outlet to test if the console works. Maybe even take it to a Gamestop where they can test out your power supply and one of their own.

If it doesn't work then you might have to get a power supply replacement.

When I tested it in a different outlet the same thing happened. I tried a few different ones around the place with the same result.

I have had to plug my power supply into a different outlet before just to get the light to turn on. This is the first time it will not stay powered

are you wired to the wall or extension? if extension it may be that your xbox is not getting enough power.

I have it plugged into a surge protector that the TV and Nintendo Switch are also plugged into. I'll try to plug directly into the wall to see if it happens again. It seems to shut down when there is a lot happening on the screen. So could the power
supply in the system be the problem in this case? I had the same problem with WOW years ago with my PC. To much happening during a raid and I would get blue screen. Changed the power supply to something with more output, never had the problem again.

I've tried this several times. The strange thing is that the led changes color when i plug the power supply to the console. I will try again but I don't think this is going to work.

If you have not already done so unplug you power supply from the plug for 5 minutes to allow it to reset and when you power it back up try plugging it directly into a wall outlet to see what happens. When the power supply is unplugged also check to make
sure all connections and leads to and from the power supply are secure.
