Something is wrong with my Xbox One Headset, Controller....or Console

Something is wrong with my xbox one headset, controller, or console and it's starting to drive me insane. During the Destiny Beta, I was able to chat with my friends through the normal Xbox One headset perfectly, no problems. After the beta ended, now, when
I go to my friend's party, whether it be his party or someone else's, the green circle that shows if you're talking or not no longer shows i'm talking, I can't hear anyone from my headset, when I take out the headset I used to be able to hear them through
the TV (now I can't), I was able to mute and unmute my headset (but now I can't after playing around with it too much just to see what the problem is), and no one can hear me when i'm talking. I tried a different headset and people were able to hear me when
I talked, but I couldn't hear them. Once again, the one way for me to hear them was to unplug the headset. Now, neither headset is working. My friend suggested to try updating the controller, which I tried, but it won't let me do it. I'm running out of options
here and it's starting to annoy the S*** out of me. What is the problem here? Is it my controller, headsets, or my console? Please answer as soon as you can cause I want to fix this problem. Thank You

Xbox One S Controller not working with headset adapter for Turtle beach XOFour Headset.

I just recently got an xbox one S to replace broken xbox one, and the original controller I used with my XO Four Headset (Turtle Beach) and the official xbox headset adapter. I thought my new S controller would just be a case of plug and play after the console
and controller was done updating, I could hear my friends in party chat but i have been unable to talk using my S Controller. Do I need a new headset adapter or is there something else wrong?

 

PC & Xbox One Controller (Accessory Attachment Problems)



With my Xbox 360 controller I could (and can) use the headset to talk to my friends with Skype and any other program I wanted because the computer would detect the headset and microphone as playback and recording device.

When I plug an Xbox One headset into my Xbox One controller my computer doesn't recognize the headset as a playback or recording device.

Am I doing something wrong? Is something wrong with my computer’s setup? Or is feature not yet supported?

Did you do a hard reset of the console? Why did the controller software update not work (specifically)? You may want to visit the support forum.

 

Yeah I did a hard reset and still no luck. The software update didn't work because I don't know why. It would just go to the screen where it shows the percentage, and just stop, without even reaching to 1%. It told me to make sure the USB cable, and headset
were connected (which they were) and the batteries were good (which they were.) I'll try the support forums tho, thanks

 

Try a different cable maybe?? Best of luck

 

Are you in the preview beta?

Check your settings as some folks Xbox's have been known too reset it's settings too default with the updates.

 

Ive got the same problem but my pad is updated it just stopped working while on titan fall i got xbox engineer to phone me, went through loads of things (everything i had already tried from searching the web) in the end he said last option was to factory
reset my xbone which i reluctantly did still nothing. I'm thinking of taking it back and and getting a replacement since its only 2 days old i think its either a software pad problem which need sorting asap or a hardware problem with my xbone since ive tried
2 headsets which both work otherwise
