Someone used my email to make a gamertag ten years ago. I want it removed.

10 years ago someone made this gamertag and used it on XBOX 360.

I have never owned an Xbox nor played the games listed. They also used their name which showed up on my account for Microsoft.

I talked to Support (ref # 1403154873) and they only suggested me moving the account to another email.

That doesn't fix the problem. I want this account removed entirely so that I could make one if I want to.

If that is impossible, I need to be able to change the gamertag (the other person must have used the 'free one') so that I could utilize the account accordingly.

I need to discuss this problem with someone from the 'Enforcement Team' to find a solution to this problem

Been trying for over 10 years to change email address - nothing but failure

So I have a gamertag that has been used for over ten years. This gamertag is tied to email address "A", which is a hotmail domain.

I want to move this gamertag to email address "B", which is also a hotmail domain. Email address "B" is my primary email address I have been using since 1999.

Unfortunately, Microsoft already assigned a different gamertag to email address "B". They automatically assigned a gamertag to this account probably around 8 years ago, against my wishes. It is one of those dumb default gamertags Microsoft generates automatically.

So how do I move my gamertag from email address "A" to email address "B"?

I can't remove email address "B" as an alias, because I will no longer be able to use it as my primary email address (Microsoft warns that you will no longer be able to send/receive email if the alias is removed).

I can't unassign the dumb, automatically generated gamertag from email address "B". It won't let me for some reason.

I have been fighting this issue for over ten years without any success. I just want my gamertag assigned to the correct email address. How hard can that possibly be? I have been a paying customer for a long time. You would think someone would be able to
have an answer for me.

 

Cannot change the email address associated with my Xbox Live Account

No gamertag is associated with my 'new' email. I removed that gamertag months ago with the 3 emails method - thanks to the tutorial I found on this site.

I need this gamertag - it's the gamertag you see on my forum avatar. years ago I created an email only to associate it with my gamertag.

Your second suggestion is interesting, but the email I want to associate my gamertag with, is also used for OneDrive and Windows 8.1 account. If I transfer this stuff to another dummy email that would be a problem, cause I won't be able to add it back. Or
am I missing something?

 

Actually the Enforcement Team has nothing to do with the issue you have posted. You have used this account for 10 years and I will give you the same suggestion support gave you " Just change the email associated with your account"

And if this is regarding the free gtag change you will have to pay the fee for that change like everybody else

 

couple of things that you are going to want to do is follow this link

1. account.live.com/acsr and try and reset that password for that account if you can reset the password then you can follow the following link which will give you instructions on how to change the email address associated with that account then you can
create a new account with your email (as long is it is not an email that's already associated with Microsoft I.E. @live.com, @Hotmail.com, @outlook.com) if it is and you remove the email from that account then you will lose it forever and no way to get it
back. but basically what your going to want to do Is add a dummy outlook.com by signing in at account.live.com/addassocid to the account that currently has your email address attached to it and then making the dummy outlook account the primary email and then
you can remove your email from that account and then make a new account with your email address. and make your own gamertag that you want that will not cost you anything.

 

The problem is that someone ELSE used this account. I wasn't aware of it until recently. I did not create, use or have anything to do with this account. The problem is that it is associated with the email I use for windows 10. I want it changed/deleted/replaced
with something I can create.

 

I am under the impression that the Xbox account's email is also the one used for Windows...so by doing what you say, won't my Windows account follow to the dummy outlook email?
