Someone please catch lizard squad

It can't be that hard to trace a re-routed vpn, especially with the technology our government has. Why don't they just find the guy(s) and lock them up? I want to know their motive for doing this. What's the point?

Lol I don't think it's necessary to tell someone to go kill themself man. I also considered getting a PS4 but I read that this Lizard Squad took down the PLaystation Network for weeks. Basically you're *** either way until someone catches these turds, which
I'm sure isn't easy.

There has been no confirmation that any hacking organization is behind the current service alert, as such, this is just speculation. Please follow the below link to the service alert page for updates from the tech team every 30 minutes as they work to fix
the matter at hand.

Their motive is purely to troll. Unfortunately DDoS attacks can be done easily and are difficult to trace back. I'm sure Microsoft (and Sony as they went offline too) are working to mitigate the attack to bring the service back online.

post). The tech team will take care of this and let us know when things are fully functional again.

What a joke! A billion dollar company constantly hacked by kids....with their money their system should be untouchable! Oh and heres an idea!...employ top hackers to work for Microsoft to fight back on these issues.. how do u let your system get penetrated
on the largest use day of the year? You guys need to step your tech dept up! Seriously! What a shame..

 

If it is a issue of network intrusion then the answer is simply this; there are some forms of attacks that no amount of security can stop. Some of the attacks folks see in IT coming out of China, for instance, slice right through Linux and Unix servers and
the only option administrators have is to transfer work load to redundant servers and kill access to the server by rebooting it.

While this may be feasible to an entity such as a utility company it simply is not for a service such as Xbox live as the server resets would still pretty much cause the same desired effects. It sucks yes and it is also extremely frustrating for gamers and
network admins alike. Just please try to hang in there and I'm sure service will be restored before too long.
