Someone linked my gamertag to their activision account

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Just a friendly reminder though that in linking an in-game account, we need to unlink the previous account to our Xbox profile first, and to do this, it will be through the in-game settings.

In this case, I would highly recommend reaching out to Activision to check the options available such as unlinking it on their end.

Hi Parnhat, COD MW uses Activision ID in-game and not your gamertag.

Go to https://s.activision.com/activision/profile and check if your xbox account is linked with activision and then edit your ID to the one you want.

If you have the gamertag of the accused then use the link posted above to report to Microsoft.

If its just your gamertag on call of duty that hasn't changed, got to activisions website sign into your activision account and you can change your display name from there, modern warfare uses your activision account name not your gamertag I had to
do the same thing when I changed my gamertag on my xbox

Thank you for posting here on the Xbox forums. Unfortunately, Xbox and Microsoft would not have the ability to mange Activision accounts. Support for this would have to be given to you by Activision themselves. If they cannot help you, then you may have
to just link your current gamertag to a different Activision account if they allow you to create one.
