Someone is kicking me offline.

i know it's against the rules to publicly post a gamertag so I won't do that, but last night, some hacker was offering mods for payment in GTA 5. I told him to knock it off and he tried to argue with me, then he hacked the game to have it kill me over and
over again, finally, he told me that he was going to flood my IP address and disconnect me, which did happen. I reset my router which fixed the issue but now i'm worried he'll do it again. What can i do? I reported him.

I go and play online on Gta Iv and this guy threatens to "Hostboot" me and actually ends up disconnecting my internet. I blocked him, Avoided him and muted him. He still manages to disconnect me. Help?

He must be spamming your IP address with useless internet traffic. Its called a denial of service attack.

You need to change your public IP address to fix it.

Luckily this can normally be done by switching off or disconnecting the power to your modem/router for a couple of minutes.

Once router is switched back on you should have new IP address and be back on Live.

Although some ISPs may require you to contact them to get your IP address changed but with most switching off router is usually enough to trigger a change

 

As long as you filed a complaint on him, the enforcement team will investigate him. If he continues to attack you, you'd want to contact your ISP.
