Someone is Impersonating Me.

A Player has created a New Account and changed it's Gamertag to Copy Mine.

My Gamertag is and theirs is BIanket Bob. You cannot tell the difference because of One Letter Change.

If i put the entire name in Lower Case, you can see the difference:

Mine: blanket bob

Theirs: [Mod Removed]

This person has gone through great lengths to Impersonate me, listed below are some of those things:

- Copying my Gamertag and Messaging me with a Winky Smiley Face when it was created

- Following me into Online Games

- Adding my friends and messaging them as if it were Me

- Following me into the Game: Elder Scrolls Online (i play nearly all the time) and pretending they are me and following me Everywhere in it

- Creating Guild/Clan names that are the same as My Guild/Clan Names

- Purchasing In-Game Mounts that they see me using so they can copy what i do.

I have this image as a bit of Evidence that i am being stalked/followed and impersonated by this account.

Help!! I have contacted XBOX LIVE support twice and also spoken with the police about this and nobody seems to be able to do something right now. I had a gamertag and changed it. Someone made a new account using that gamertag and is now and impersonating
me, including using my real name and city and state in the profile. I have filed a complaint against the gamertag after they sent me a friend request and I read the bio, which is insulting and fraudulent. What can I do at this point?

You can go to the offending profile on your Xbox and report the gamertag. There will be an option to add comments when you file the report.

 

I have done that already, but still every day he is Following me, harassing me by making other new accounts to send me messages that usually involve a message like this "Where is the Ban at ? Everyone is laughing at you because you lost this fight" i get
it every day from a newly made account.. this Needs to stop! Even his GamerPic is EXACTLY THE SAME AS MINE!

 

Report each message, block and do NOT respond. Responding will remove the block.

The XBLPET has to have time to do their investigation.

 

Report & block the person via your console.Set communications to friends only if need be.

Someone having a similar gamertag or the same avatar/gamerpic as you is not against the rules.

If they are harassing you online then that is against the rules.

As mentioned,it takes time for the enforcement team do investigate a report as they get thousands every day,all of which need to be investigated.

 

Thanks, and yes i know and understand. i have read MANY TIMES the entire TOS and Impersonating someone is against the TOS so it would fit under it's category because the only purpose of the account is to Impersonate Me. Similar Gamertag is just part of the
Impersonation. If it was only the Gamertag then that would not be against rules. but the "Intent" Should be it's verification.

It is 100% Evident that this Gamertag is ONLY to Impersonate me, and no other purpose.

 

Actually that's impersonating Microsoft staff,Mods,etc. that is against the code of conduct.

Just follow the advice we have posted & the enforcement team will look into it but as we've said,it could take time.
