    ok so pretty much when ever i turn on my xbox it says i have signed in but at that exact moment s message pops up. it says some xbox 360 features are missing update required. so i click the button to start the update it resets my xbox but theres no update
    all i get is a single red dot on my power button and a black screen. when i restart my xbox i get the system update message again. at this point i cant accsess my dashbord and cant get any further then this message when i try and do the update nothing happens
    when i try to restart my xbox nothing happens.

    this all started when for some reason i was exited out of my assassins creed rouge (wich i have downloaded directly to the console) when i tryed to boot it up again it sayed i needed to redownload it. so i deleted rouge and redownloaded but as soon as the
    download completed this happens. i have pretty much confirmed it has something to do with my memory unit as i can easily start my xbox with out the unit in. but i cant accsess my memory unit to fix the problem as i can not accsess the dashbord or get any further
    than that blasted message. any thoughts on what i should do. id rather not have to buy a new memory unit as mine is the 250 gb one and i have no way of transfering all my data (saves) i have progress on over 50 games and im not gonna go thru all that again
    xD.

    Help! System won't let me update!

    I recently bought a used 360. when i tried to connect to xbox live it tells me that i need to download an update. After downloading and system reboot the system tells me

    "some xbox 360 features are missing or corrupt. A system update is required to replace them. Your console will now restart,"

    I have used my hard drive and have tried an external hard drive to download the update but it wont let me. Help!

    Endless Update Loop, Corrupted OS?

    Damnit. That didn't work either. As soon as the update was complete the same message came up again.

    "Some Xbox 360 features are missing or corrupt. A system update is required to replace them. Your console will now restart. If the problem persists there may be a problem with your storage device. For more info, visit www.xbox.com/support."

    At this point, should I try Formatting my hard drive?

    System update loop

    I just got the same issue. I am getting this error message after update:

    "Some Xbox 360 features are missing or corrupt. A system update is required to replace them. Your console will now restart. If the problem persists there may be a problem with your storage device. For more info, visit www.xbox.com/support."

    The console was bouncing between the error message and the same update process in an endless loop. After removing HD, kinect, etc, I could open the main menu. But as soon I slide to the Games tab it freezes again. After formatting the internal memory I was
    able to navigate the dashboard and so connectivity tests. At least it can reach Xbox Live.

    If it is a software problem then Microsoft should provide a simple way to fix this. Don't they have master disks able to dash the internal memory to the initial safe state??? sending the XBOX360 to repair costs almost the same as buying a replacement one.

    Why microsoft doesn't include xbox one X in next gen games its a powerfull console

    but missing some of the hardware features that are required, xbox one x is ancient tech these days, even series s is now stretching, series x is getting on a bit too.

    Xbox One lacks alot of basic features avialable on Xbox 360

    The Xbox 360 didn't have all of these features the year it was released. It's something the great guys at Microsoft took years to implement. Anyway, Microsoft knows that we miss some of the old stuff our 360s could do and Major Nelson has already said that
    there will be major updates early next year.
