    Some sound/music playing in mono?


    So I just got myself a xbox one today with forza 5. I hooked it up to my samsung hdtv using a hdmi cable with stereo uncompressed sent over hdmi cable.

    Hooked up a pair of stereo headphones to the tv and noticed that the music is playing back in mono?? I have checked a few videos of forza 5 and there is no such issue for anyone else.

    Anyone know what i going on?? The sound effects themselves seems to be in stereo and it appears to be just the music. Same thing with cut scenes as well they seem to be in stereo.

    I don't listen to music while playing games, I prefer the in-game sound or music.

    Is it just using the headset or does this happen with the normal TV speakers? If its the headset sounds like something is wrong with the TV jack.

    I have tried different headsets and now even tried a separate amplifier using the optical out and same thing happens in forza. I really hope it is not one of the channels that are busted in the xbox.

    Really odd how it just happens to the music but not the actual sound effects.

    Hi,

    I got similair problems with my xbox wireless headset thats connected via a bluetooth 5.0 dongle.

    When i'm listening to music everything is ok but when playing cs-go and on discord i got drops or the sound dissapears. I only get it back when switching back to hands free ag audio and hear the bullets coming from everywhere and live in mono 0.5 live.

    Microsoft please fix this issue!

    Thank you. And to be clear so that I can make sure I am understanding correctly, the behavior you're expecting is that when plugging in a mono headset it is for not just chat but to pass game and chat audio to the headset? or is the mono headset only meant to pass chat while the surround sound system continues to cast game and console audio and is switching the TV/Surround sound audio from its settings? Thus when unplugging the surround sound system works as intended but does not work as intended when a mono headset is plugged in.

    With the sony headset are you trying to pass all sound through the headset? or through the headset and the surround sound system?
