    Some serious questions about the XB One upcoming chat/headset adapter.


    I recently bought a new pair of Tritton 7.1 surround headphones. I have the Turtle Beach official surround headset for 160 bucks preordered from Amazon. Thing is, I've been hearing that the new TB sets will not plug into the One's digital optical, but just
    directly into the controller port, which is only 2 channel stereo. Is this true? If it is, why is TB advertising they will be surround? They will not say if they are 5.1 or 7.1, just that they are surround. I'm wondering if I still should get the Turtle Beach
    set or just buy the adapter when it comes out next week and get a digital optical spliter and use my Trttions for both my PS4 and X Box One.

    So I wanted to add this too,

    The controller is only disconnecting when I have my XB chat adapter from my Astro A50 headset plugged in.

    When I have the chat adapter not plugged in it does NOT disconnect...

    SGT MacMillan, no. Don't post here attempting to answer questions you have no clue about. The Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter passes both game and chat audio to a 3.5mm stereo headset.

    If you are talking about the Chat headset, that comes with Xbox One, then No. If you are talking about Stereo Headset, with an Stereo Headset Adapter. then Yes. Using the Stereo Headset Adapter give to both Chat and Game sound to the headset. If you TV,
    is connected to the Xbox, your TV sound, will go to the headset.

    Actually, the adapter is more than that. The current headsets and associated modded adapters only support chat audio, so they only have controls for volume / mute of chat. These headsets and the upcoming adapters support both game audio and chat (presumably
    up to 7.1 game audio, based on xo7), and so have independent volume controls for both (2 extra buttons over the current headsets, most likely with more expensive internal hardware to process the extra audio info too). So 15 dollars is too cheap- how much is
    a MixAmp?
