Some QoL adjustments for the Series X/S that would make it a far better experience for the...

-- Cross posting a previous post I did on Reddit. --

Not sure if MS browses this subreddit but there are some major Quality of Life (QoL) adjustments that would greatly help the user experience for the Series X/S (and apologizes for the long post in advance).

    • Allow us to decide where we want to save games. Give us the choice if we want to save the game on the internal hard drive or an external hard drive.
      • This is especially true for non-Series X/S optimized games that can run off the external. It's annoying to have a game automatically install on the internal SSD or external only to spend X amount of time later moving the game because we're not given the
option on where to save the game.
      • This is a feature that is currently within the PS5 where the user can choose to save PS4 games in one location and PS5 games in another. Let us do this but with more options like on Windows or even on the Xbox phone app. Kind of odd I'm given the choice
on the app but not on the system.
      • Allow us to also default as well if needed with rules.
        • One X/S game on SSD, optimized for Series X/S; then on internal
    • Please bring back profile based controller settings
      • I am a huge fan of my Series 2 controller (I didn't even unpack the new controller that's included with the system) but the OS takes a great controller and keeps at great and not the best possible.
      • On the Xbox 360 it was possible to setup your profile such that games would automatically allow you to play Y-inverted without any options needing to be changed for the user. This was a great part of the system as it allowed me to jump into a game and enjoy
it right away. The One nor the Series X/S support this. You have to go into the settings for each game and change your controls instead of having it automatically apply.
      • While there are some accessibility options to make a "default" inverted option this is a failure because options such as browsing a map or scrolling up and down are also inverted as the inputs are inverted across the board. This was a major step back from
the Xbox 360 and cannot understand why it was implemented.
      • This is also a major accessibility issue as some games do not fully allow for inverted controls but the profile settings on the Xbox 360 all but over rode those and allowed me to play games like Beyond Good and Evil; which do not have the option in the game
to invert the controls and would not have been possible for me to play.
    • Game Pass Ultimate Family Plans
      • It's 2020 Microsoft; even Apple is allowing family plans for their line of services and when someone like Apple who is know for their "Apple Tax" is offering a greater family value it might be time to look inward.
      • I am getting my father a Series X/S for Christmas (still debating which, have both pre-ordered for a December delivery, not a big gamer and only has 1080p TV but what about later down the road). The fact I'm not able to have a family plan to share Gold and
Game Pass with for someone who isn't a huge gamer but would appreciate it is quite technologically archaic. I understand that MSFT is moving to a service based business model and I have Game Pass Ultimate until 2022 and it's been one of, if not THE, best value
in gaming but it's the major outlier for families.
        • Yes, I know there are workarounds regarding "home system" but even live TV services like YouTube TV and Hulu TV that are $60+/mo allow for family plans and family members to be on with reasonable limitations.
    • Flag mobile xCloud streaming/gaming separately from the console.
      • I use my Xbox as my entertainment center but there are times when I have a soccer game on that I'm not too invested into such that I want to hear it but not really be engaged with. These are great opportunities where I could pop my phone in the controller
and start playing on xCloud...except you can't do this. If you log into the same XBL account you're disconnected.
        • While you could have a second account just for streaming services, again like Game Pass and the "home system" work around this shouldn't have to exist.
        • Allow for the mobile streaming version of Game Pass to be flagged as a "secondary" connection. Hell, limit it to one device at a time to avoid piracy people just sharing logins to play for free; but this would be a small change that would be a great QoL
          adjustment.
    • Update the UI.
      • I love the Xbox UI, I think it is smooth and gets you the information you need quickly but it's beginning to show its age when compared to the "gaming focused" capabilities of the PlayStation 5. It has the (and this is going to sound so much worse than I
mean for it to but...) the smell of corporate on it still. I understand MSFT and Windows were aiming for a one UI user experience for Xbox and Windows and that should be applauded but experiment some.
        • For example, to change storage or move games, I'm going into multiple menus and opening different "apps" (for a lack of better words) when I want to move something from the external storage to internal.
        • Doing small things like quickly getting access to spots in games doesn't exist. This is something that the PS5 shows very well and I think the Xbox could greatly benefit from. Allow the user to jump into their character in Destiny 2 and not have to launch
the game then go to the character then load to the menu. Though is is significantly faster now, there is room for improvement.
      • The home screen and menu UI is still 1080p when you're pushing 4K 60/120...that needs no explanation
      • The home screen and menu UI do not support/are not in HDR, again needs no explanation
      • I understand you want to have a cohesive experience between the One and the Series of Xbox generations but these are tweaks that if a game developer can make their game optimized for Series X/S, why can't you guys make your UI optimized for it as well?
These are just a few QoL changes that I think would make a big impact and difference for the Series X. Don't get me wrong; I really like my system and it is stupid fast such it puts my 5700 XT/i7 desktop to
shame, but there is significant room for improvement from a user experience level in my eyes.

    :)

Can you swap a Xbox Series X for A Series S?

Hi there Microsoft Xbox, As the tittle says is it possible to swap a Xbox Series X for A Series X? Is there a program that microsoft has for that? The console is working fine and everything except a series s would be better for my needs.
Far as I know there is not a facility to swap consoles for a lesser console....you'd probably either have to find somewhere that would be willing to give you a Series S plus cash (am thinking local game stores and such) or sell the SSX and buy the S

    Series S vs Series X ?

Hi Jevgeni. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

The Xbox Series X is the world's most powerful console, it provides the best performance and graphics in games optimised for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One X.

The Series S is significantly cheaper, but is not as powerful. While it still offers good performance and image quality, the Series X is noticeably better in some games. Despite this, many of the performance and graphical features from the Series X are also available on the Series S.

Overall, the Xbox Series X will provide the best gaming experience. But if you're looking to save some money, the Xbox Series S is an excellent choice. The money you save from buying the Series S could be used to purchase some games for your new console.

For more information, this page offers a comparison between both consoles: https://www.xbox.com/consoles/compare

Please reach back if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

About GTA online on Xbox 360 we don’t want it shut down guy’s Respond back and pass it to the creator of servers for GTA ONLINE ON 360

How is the xbox one boring?

The xbox one version of GTA V Online has more going on,better visuals etc & is a far better experience than the 360 version.

The xbox 360 is an old console now & with the Series X/S & PS5 versions of GTA V coming out there's no point in keeping the old & outdated 360 version going.

As the others have mentioned,it's not cost effective.

If you want to carry on playing GTA V online then you'll either need a xbox one or a series x/s.

    AC Valhalla graphics

    Hi,

A common problem when running newer games on such older hardware like the original Xbox One and Xbox One S. The Xbox One lacks the processing and graphics power of the Series X and S consoles. I'm afraid there isn't anything you can do to improve things
on your Xbox One. You'll need a Series X or S to get a better visual experience.

Luckily if or when you buy a Series X or S, your game will be updated to the Series version for free.

Textures Issues on Xbox Series S

It’s not a series s issue. It’s very apparent on the series x aswell and some ps5s. Wait for vanguard you will see better textures and performance
