Some of my friends are saying the are offline, when they are not

There are two possible reasons...

1: They are appearing offline for various reasons, Including Spam Invites, Messages, Ect.

2: There Maybe a Xbox Live outage causing everything to act in strange ways.

(It happened to me last week)

Xbox Live Users have the option to show themselves as Online, Do Not Disturb or Offline. You can access this feature thru your profile on the Xbox Dashboard.

There are options to put Offline or Online, Do not Disturb, etc. Also sometimes there are tiny Server issues which show everyone offline, but then they re appear online and everything is back to normal. Sorry for that.

You may want to sign out of the console and sign your account back in to "sync" up again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

In regards to this matter, there may be some sort of network connectivity issue that may be causing these discrepancies.

I would recommend that you test your multiplayer connection, and see what sort of results you are receiving.

This can be done by following these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select Network.
5. Select Network settings. Any known outages will appear in the middle of the screen.
6. On the right side of the Network settings screen, select
   Test multiplayer connection.

If you do receiving an error, I would recommend taking a look at the
Xbox One Multiplayer Connection Error Solution wizard and see if any of the scenarios fit you.
