Some games unable to download to secondary drive

Hello there folks,

I have question for you. I have noticed that I am unable to download and install certain games to my E drive, which is my bigger HDD where I install all my games and apps. I noticed this for Microsoft Flight Simulator and Forza Horizon 5 Pre-install. Upon pressing the download button in the Microsoft Store, I am prompted to choose a drive for my installation. In theory, I am able to choose my E drive and install it there. However, with the 2 titles cited above, the Store only lets me select my C drive, which is the SSD where Windows is installed, and which is quite small and used up. Thing is, I remember checking the System Requirements for MSFS, and it says HDD's are supported. So, what is the problem? My E drive is fully functional and has enough space on it for those games to install successfully. Is there any way of bypassing it?

That's ok. In this case, try to use the Xbox app, and there select your HDD as the drive you want to install the game to. That app doesn't install automatically to the default option like the Microsoft Store, it will ask you where to install before the download process starts.

Let's try to change the default installation storage device for the Microsoft Store. You can also try to install games through the Xbox app, which should allow you to select which drive you want to install the game to. If on the Xbox app it doesn't detect your HDD, then follow these steps:

1. Open Windows 10 Settings.

2. Select System from the menu.

3. In the menu on the left, select Storage.

4. Now, under More storage settings, click Change where new content is saved.

5. Select your new default location.

Thank you for your answer Mr Claus, however the default location is already set as the E drive for everything, including new apps.

Yes. So, if I've deleted everything on the hard drive - cleared all the caches, etc. Why is there still an incomplete download of 99% of a game on the hard drive? The issue is being unable to completely delete something. Download is becoming secondary. I
understand that you need enough space on the hard drive. I'll try to grab a sequence of screenshots to better show what's happening.
