    Some advice on the 360

    Hi,

    I'm looking for some opinions.

I have an Xbox One already but would anybody find it foolish to buy a 360 to play some of my old favorites? I found one pretty cheap and have some extra cash lying around. I am torn between waiting on games to become backwards compatible and wanting to experience
these games again on the 360. I have been regretting selling it for sometime since releases of the types of games that I play have been few and far between on the Xbox One.

I really find myself itching to go back to games like Skyrim, New Vegas, Bioshock infinite, Red Dead Redemption, etc.

I know I am the only one that can answer the question, it just seemed like an interesting discussion topic.

    Thanks

    :)

Need some advice on capturing Xbox 360 footage

i've always been interested in recording my own gameplay video's from my Xbox to upload to youtube but it just always seemed too much hassle and what not but now i've been thinking of just going ahead and buying a capture device. Now the quiestion is which
    one do i buy..

I'm currently looking into either the Hauppauge HD PVR or the Roxio game capture, now i know obviously everyone is going to say the HD PVR as it's clearly better but it's also alot more expensive.

Currently the HD PVR seems to be around £160 while the Roxio is about £65 but the main issue for me is not actually the price, but the file sizes of the footage captured, as the Hauppauge is better quality and such i'm guessing the file sizes are quite big
even getting into the GB's which would be a bit of a problem uploading them to the internet for me as i have a crappy connection speed at the moment, upload speed is around 600Kbps so if the files are really big i don't fancy sitting around for 5 hours uploading
one 10-20 min clip to youtube.

So my question is would the clips captured with Roxio be alot smaller as it's not as good quality, or would they still be quite big files any way? And would there be any way of lowering the size without obviously losing too much quality. And really is the
HD PVR really worth spending an extra £100 on?

I'm not exactly planning on making a pro gaming channel so i don't need the best of the best, but of course better quality would be nice, my only real problem is uploading the files as it would take me forever to actually render and upload anything with
my 600K upload speed, and i can't even get a better connection untill around june time which is when Sky broadband are fitting the fibre optic wires in my area.

So yeah if anyone has any useful information on these 2 devices and uploading them to youtube i would appreciate it.

    Thanks.

for quality id agree with bon3ezz.

i havent captured anything in quite some time. using a cheapA$$ easyCap (SD cap card) using the S-video out. gives you the 480p 30fps resolution.as does the roxio game capture.. good enough for youtube.

if you intend on using it to capture HD tv programs. sports or movies aswell then go for the pvr.

if its just for games. roxio capture.

    Some advice on the 360

Not every 360 game will be made backwards compatible so i'd say go for it.

The games you mentioned will be I think but when they will be is unknown.

Still have my 360 hooked up & do fire the ol' girl up for a game every now & then.

You'll be waiting a very long time.

Right now there are 134 games that are backwards compatible and apart from "Fallout 3" the rest are a colossal waste of time.

They talk about Backwards Compatibility as if they're doing XBox ONE owners a favor. They aren't. You don't go to the papershop and ask for yesterday's news.

The point of BC is to encourage those XBox 360 users who are on the fence about getting a ONE to take the plunge in the mistaken belief that there will be a healthy selection of the Best of the XBox 360 available as Backwards Compatible titles.

So if you can pick one up cheap enough you're much better off buying a 360 to enjoy the best games on that console, though you'll really notice the difference in graphical quality compared to the ONE.

  6. Yeah I say buy the 360 and have that as a console to play some of the games that we probably wont see re-released for BC. I figure the majority of the AAA titles will be released, but the small time games probably wont see backwards compatibility. Plus you
have to account for some games that are no longer with a publisher and wont ever see the light of day unless some publisher were to buy them up.

It is a safe bet to buy the Xbox 360 because the Xbox One backwards compatibility is going to be limited given the number of Xbox 360 games that have been released for it Some advice on the 360 :)
