Some Accounts on machine can connect to xbox live but others can't

So, tonight I turned my xbox one on and discovered that I could not connect to xbox live, but attempting to use test network connection revealed no problems. This was frustrating, and the basic FAQ on the site was no help whatsoever. However, just as a test
I decided to sign into my sister's XBLA account which is also on the machine... And she's connected to xbox live! This is very confusing. I've tried selecting the "Connect to Xbox Live" option on my dashboard repeatedly, but nothing happens. Reseting the console
has also failed.

So now I'm quite confused as to what's going wrong here.

They did say only 1 live account is needed per machine and all other users have Live whether he can have his account on all 3 machines is another matter, I'm not sure if it's possible but it may be the case.

 

Can't connect to LIVE with a certain profile

My brother is having trouble with his account. On his Xbox, i can connect the system to LIVE, but when i sign in with his profile, it says it can't connect. I was hoping to have some insight on this.

 

Right, so, problem solved, actually. I found this old thread which detailed someone having the same problem. Long story short, the problem occurs when you change your Microsoft account's password on another machine. Frustratingly, if you have your console
set to auto-log you on, the console will allow you to log on but won't let you connect to xbox live, nor will it tell you what the problem is. the solution is to sign out and then sign back in.

 

sign out of hers and yours , then sign yours back in...

 

Yanks bimnog been having same problem over last week on my son's xbox just changed from instant sign in to manual and worked fine

 

To solve the issue you are experiencing I suggest you to remove the account from your console, clear the console cache and download your account again. Follow the step by step instructions:

a)To remove the account from xbox live console:

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select All Settings.

Under "Account," select Remove accounts.

Select the account that you want to remove.

Select Remove to confirm.

When you're finished, select Close.

b) To clear cache on an Xbox One:

Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely.

Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.

Press the power button on the console three or four times. This will ensure that any remaining power in the battery is drained, clearing the cache on the console.

Plug the power cable back into the console.

Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.

Turn on the console using the power button.

c)To download your Xbox profile to the Xbox One console:

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

2. Scroll down, and then select Add & manage.

3. Select Add new.

4. Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that's associated with your Xbox profile, and then select Enter.

5. Enter the password for your Microsoft account, and then select Enter.

6. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.

7. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences and download your Xbox profile to your Xbox One console.

the above fix in stubborn situations but 90% of the time just sign out and back in will do the trick , and in a fraction of the time...
