    Some 4K Games Causing Screen flashing/stuttering on Xbox One X


    I have an Xbox One X and Vizio P65Q9-H1 4k TV. I had no issues with this for a while, but then some games began to give me a headache with the glitches when I play them in 4K. This issue doesn't happen when I lower the resolution to 1080p. It also isn't
    an issue on certain games, and when using Netflix. I have all the video options check marked. The games that seem to work for now are Steep, Dirt Rally 2.0. The games that aren't working are Red Dead Redemption 2, Battlefield V.

    It has to be an Xbox issue if only some games work and some do not. It doesn't seem like it's an issue with the TV.

    Had the exact same problem and solution, only I have the Xbox One S. If I turned VRR on in the Xbox settings the screen would actually become a flickering jumble of green lines and was unusable forcing me to have to reset the XBox video settings using
    the CD eject and Power button method, then resetting up my video settings once I could get in.

    Thank you for getting back to us PisterMibb, and i'm happy to hear that you got it working. But weird the VRR would do that, when it is basically designed to do the opposite :)

    Hey PisterMibb.

    Thank you for reaching out to the forum. I might be an bandwidth issue, depending on color depth, resolution and frame rate. Are you using a standard HDMI cable ? For 4K a Ultra high speed HDMI cable is recommended, due to the much higher data rate.

    I appreciate your reply, but after many troubleshooting attempts I figured out that turning off VRR did the trick.
