    Hey guys,

    Two days ago I bought an Xbox One X as an upgrade from my Original Xbox One. I've been having issues with the internet on it however. Most of the time it can't seem to do anything online, despite being connected and saying "everything is good" in the Network
    Connection test. Sometimes it will work here and there, but most of the time I can't even sync my games data when I launch them, it just says to try again.

    When I run the Detailed Network Statistics when it's having this issue this is what I get:

    I didn't have any issues with my previous Xbox One at all.

    So far I've tried factory resetting the console, rebooting my router (it works for a short period sometimes after a reboot), playing with settings, using both 5ghz and 2.4ghz networks (5ghz only has 58% signal strength).

    I figured it out. It was my external SSD connected to the back port of the Xbox One X. When I disconnected it, it worked fine. The moment I plugged it back in, things stopped working. I tried plugging it into the front port but had the same issue still...so
    it looks like for now I won't be able to use my SSD with the Xbox One X when it worked fine with the Xbox One (2014). Let me know if you guys had external drives connected and if this fixed it for you!

    Upload Speed: 3.66 mbps

    Download Speed: 1.06 mbps

    Signal Strength: 100%

    Wi-Fi Speed: 22 mbps

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. While the console is off unplug your router
    for 3 to 4 minutes. Plug the router back up and allow it to fully reset then plug the power cord back in the console and restart.

    Thanks for your reply. I'd done this already but tried it again exactly as you specified, still getting the same issue unfortunately. It logged me in but now isnt working again.

    Hello ThirdDegreePun,

    Thank you for keeping us updated. It appears as though the connection between the router and the console is not maintaining it's stability. The recommended troubleshooting step for this issue is a power cycle of the router and console. Since it works for
    a small amount of time after the reboot, we recommend attempting to connect your console to the network with a new MAC address. Be sure to let us know the results!

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Settings.
    3. Select Network.
    4. Select Network Settings
    5. Select Advanced Settings
    6. Select Alternate MAC Address
    7. Select Clear

  7. Thanks for your suggestions, I cleared the mac address and managed to get one set of detailed results before it stopped working again and I once more couldn't use the internet on the console at all. So still no solution unfortunately.

    I don't know if this is relevant but when i tried to power it off right now the power button kept flashing and it didn't shut down after a minute so I forced it off. It also sometimes struggles to launch apps.

    When I run the multiplayer test it doesn't give me an error message listed on that page, it just says the test can't be run right now.

    I have my original xbox one still but it's not currently in use.

    I just tried another factory reset and when i choose a network this is what it says:

    "Your network is good but there are some xbox service issues"

    But the Xbox service is fine. This happened when I first set it up as well. I set up my other console at the same time as i was going to give it to my family and it worked fine.

  11. The first setup it got stuck on the update screen, but this time it could download the language pack fine. I'm betting i will have the same issues however.

    Sorry to hear the issue is still persisting.I would recommend you set up
    port forwarding
    if that is the case. (either sign into your router and set them up or contact your internet provider)

    Also, try to apply
    UPNP
    , so if you see that option make sure to "enable it".

    I tried setting up Port Forwarding last night, and UPnP is enabled already on my router.

    it's weird because the original Xbox One works, and worked fine for years, this one hasn't worked since I unpacked it. I reckon I need to return it.

    If you still want to return the console you may try taking it to the Place of purchase or set up a Repair with our support team.
